this is a great ipa! collaboration ipas never seem to be as good as the ones made individually by the participating breweries. anyone else ever notice that? looks like fort george does a whole series of them, which is cool, and they got some heavy hitters for this one! a slightly deeper golden color than many, with a fluffy tall white head that leaves trace lacing as it drinks down, and a bit of haze. smells insanely fresh, juicy, and citrus forward on the hops, nothing new at all here, just really well timed and proportioned. the taste shows some fairly obvious citra and mosaic, although there may be others in here too, especially considering all the bitterness that comes on late. a nice round medium body with a fresh dry cereal complexion, maybe a little wheat, its perfect for the pungent hops. great carbonation too, and quite sturdy on the abv. my friends described this as half melvin and one quarter wach of the other two breweries, and i agree pretty well with that assessment. awesome ipa, super fresh in the maret right now!

Bright orange and just the slightest bit of haze, decent head. Aroma is juicy hops, pungent, dank. Flavor is juicy, piney, possibly Mosaic hops? Delicious IPA, I'd love to get another four pack but this was a GABF one and done.

Lightly golden, but hazy, smallish receding head. Noticible pineapple from
the crack of the can, grapefruit, clementine and honey. Bitter, white grapefruit, pepper, dankness, mango. Good bite of hops. Drying mouthfeel, does not linger. A great NW IPA.

Love this years 3-way. Great 7.35 IPA that drinks more like 5-6 abv. Mellow, high quality flavor with citrusy hops just to the perfect level of non-astringent bitterness. Fairly small head that doesn't linger all that long. The only feature that could have improved this beer would be a nice pillowy head. It's hard to find any Barley Brown item off site, so this one hell of a treat to just be able to pickup at the market. Dated can, 5 weeks 'new'. Damn good brew!

Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottom of can says 8.2.16.
A- Pours a semi-hazy medium amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of sheer surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves small clots behind and there are specs of sediment suspended in the body.
S- Juicy, somewhat dank hop aroma with notes of pine and stone fruit.
T- More stone fruit with a solid malt backbone followed by medium bitterness. There's also some pine characteristic. The flavors don't really line up with the bitterness all that well. Decently drinkable but doesn't entice me to take multiple sips.
M- Semi-sharp from the hops with medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the lighter side.
O- Not bad, but the flavors aren't all that well integrated for it to be a great IPA in my book.

The beer comes in a clear medium deep gold color.
The aroma is piney, spicy, resin, a bit of fruity, grapefruit, a bit of biscuity malt.
The flavor follows balance. West Coast with East Coast combination. PIney and resin, biscuit malt, grapefruit, clean, soft beer, without being being overly bitter on the finish. Wonderful to pair with food.
