From a can. Hazy yellow. Great lacy tenacious head. The melon and citrus practically knock you over when you crack it open. Taste follows, ultra dank juicy melon and citrus.

White head. Super hazy burnt sunset orange.

Pineapple and orange juice. Very tropical. Mango and papaya. Earthy and floral, but pretty soft with light bitterness.

Really solid. Glad to see GN collaborating on this one.

16oz can served in a pint glass. Given to me by a friend at work. 08/28/17.

Pours hazy with a small head and medium-low carbonation. Smell is tropical and bright.

Taste is tropical and green -- not quite juicy, but almost. Nice bitter counterweight.

Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation. Overall, very nice beer.

Filled a half-growler at PDX grocery store. Dude said the keg was tapped about a week ago, and a bit more than half left.

From the pour, I thought I was in trouble. I do not buy into this growing story/myth of the "New England style IPA", with its hazy-to-downright-disgustingly-opaque range in appearance ---- a feature that no one in the brewing world even seems able or willing to give a technically satisfactory explanation for. Hmmmm.

This beverage pours a thickly murky, v. light tan....looks very much like unfiltered grapefruit juice (that impression is prophetic) .
Not much head. No glass lacing.

IMO, this tastes more like fruit juice than beer. Now, I like juice so this is easy to drink and I can belt it back like no one's business. ....but I didn't want juice, I wanted beer. This is juice drink.

This is a great drink for:
1) Someone who wants to drink alcohol but can't stand the taste....maybe someone underage who wants to get drunk for the first time.
or
2) A full day at the beach, if you don't have to drive anywhere afterwards....but that's already Corona's sad slot.
Otherwise, if you told me this was just a homebrew experiment gone badly I'd believe it in a heartbeat.

So if this is what people in "New England" think an IPA should be, please keep it to yourselves.
I asked my wife to drink (or get rid of) the remaining pint.

Note to Fort George: Take due caution with your brand...you have a lot more at risk than many of your would-be collaborators do.
[ I am a big fan of Fort George, but never had anything from Reubens or Great Notion before now...so maybe this is on me] .

Received as an extra in a trade. Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a hazy light yellow golden hue with a one finger white head that fades to leave sticky lacing and a thin blanket.

S - Aromas of musty tropical fruit, pineapple and peaches, light malt notes. Little bit of caramel.

T - Taste is grainy mostly with malts. There are nice pineapples and and tropical notes. Nice flavors but that initial grain really detracts from the flavour.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, fluffy, alcohol hidden well.

O - Overall this was rather solid west coast ipa offering. Nice fruity notes.

Serving type: can

Cloudy yellowish color with a long-lasting foam in the tall Bitburger glass. Very fragrant with honeysuckle, peach jam, and lime. Sprightly and tangy in the mouth. Label says this is brewed with Azacca hops which would explain the tropical fruit salad taste.

This is a real hop powerhouse but the bitterness is just moderate. Massive fruit flavors with the usual leafy murkiness that gets to you in the back of the throat. Pineapple, canned peaches, and a piney breeze. This is kind of rich and highly flavored to drink much of, but it's quite delicious. From the 16 oz can purchased at Haggen Market in Burlington, Wash.

Juicy Northwest goodness. Great from a can but even better on tap. Complex hop character but not overly bitter so similar to a NE IPA in that regard. Some classic NW hops still seem to be part of the mix though. Easy drinking and does not dull the taste buds after a pint or two. Would drink this all year if it wasn't a seasonal, and more importantly was available in my area any time of the year.
