Can from Rick. New England IPA done NW style. Hazy golden pour, scant head. Light fruity, citrus aroma, taste too. Tropical, as expected. Pretty damn good.

In many ways, 3-Way is comparable to Heady Topper in aroma, taste, and mouthfeel. There's a huge amount of resinous pine, accompanied by hefty dollops of grapefruit, stonefruit, and a hint of fresh oranges and pineapple. Not unlike the "original NEIIPA," it has a pleasant but disputably lighter cracker-y malt base which surfaces in an amount sufficient enough to prevent this from becoming a hops soup sandwich, but unintrusive to the point where a hops infusion seems to be the focal point with each sniff and sip.

The Conan Yeast-inspired fermentation character imbues the brew with a squeaky clean finish; every sip ends as dry as brut champagne but without any afterthought of bitterness or lingering stickiness. Instead, all you're left with is a faint stonefruit/pineapple-inspired fruity afterimage in your mouth--comparable to the fruit after flavors that accompany sucking on a Life-Saver® or a Jolly Rancher®

Medium-light body, with a gorgeous creamy mouthfeel at onset. The brew sustains a respectable yet unintrusive level of carbonation throughout the entire drinking experience; I guess I'm going to be equating the end of summer with "no more 3-Way" every year until I leave Oregon.

Pours a beautiful sunny yellow orange with a fair amount of yeasty haze.

Ripe citrus and tropical fruit.

Citrusy and tropical in flavor.

Light=-bodied, medium carbonation, juicy, smooth.

Overall, quite a delicious and crushable IPA!

From a can. Hazy yellow. Great lacy tenacious head. The melon and citrus practically knock you over when you crack it open. Taste follows, ultra dank juicy melon and citrus.

White head. Super hazy burnt sunset orange.

Pineapple and orange juice. Very tropical. Mango and papaya. Earthy and floral, but pretty soft with light bitterness.

Really solid. Glad to see GN collaborating on this one.

16oz can served in a pint glass. Given to me by a friend at work. 08/28/17.

Pours hazy with a small head and medium-low carbonation. Smell is tropical and bright.

Taste is tropical and green -- not quite juicy, but almost. Nice bitter counterweight.

Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation. Overall, very nice beer.

Filled a half-growler at PDX grocery store. Dude said the keg was tapped about a week ago, and a bit more than half left.

From the pour, I thought I was in trouble. I do not buy into this growing story/myth of the "New England style IPA", with its hazy-to-downright-disgustingly-opaque range in appearance ---- a feature that no one in the brewing world even seems able or willing to give a technically satisfactory explanation for. Hmmmm.

This beverage pours a thickly murky, v. light tan....looks very much like unfiltered grapefruit juice (that impression is prophetic) .
Not much head. No glass lacing.

IMO, this tastes more like fruit juice than beer. Now, I like juice so this is easy to drink and I can belt it back like no one's business. ....but I didn't want juice, I wanted beer. This is juice drink.

This is a great drink for:
1) Someone who wants to drink alcohol but can't stand the taste....maybe someone underage who wants to get drunk for the first time.
or
2) A full day at the beach, if you don't have to drive anywhere afterwards....but that's already Corona's sad slot.
Otherwise, if you told me this was just a homebrew experiment gone badly I'd believe it in a heartbeat.

So if this is what people in "New England" think an IPA should be, please keep it to yourselves.
I asked my wife to drink (or get rid of) the remaining pint.

Note to Fort George: Take due caution with your brand...you have a lot more at risk than many of your would-be collaborators do.
[ I am a big fan of Fort George, but never had anything from Reubens or Great Notion before now...so maybe this is on me] .
