Collaboration with Our Mutual Friend Brewing Company

We both share a passion for fruity, aromatic IPAs, but we make them Quite often. This IPA distinguishes itself with a biscuity English Malt called Maris Otter to give a stronger Malt character than most modern IPAs, while still packing a big tropical, peachy, citrusy hop profile. As fruity as this beer is, it still has a rather dry finish with a mild bitterness to round it out and prevent it from being overly sweet. Named for the knife made from the tooth of the sandworms in the Dune novels. Mostly because we're nerds, and also because these hazy IPAs have become one of our favorite styles, never to leave our side, like a trusty knife.

Rated 9-7-2019. Another beer I don't remember anything about. Not much better than an average beer in the ratings department, so maybe that is why I don't remember it.

Modern classic. A must for the hazy ipa fan. Really special entry for the style. I’m almost tempted to call this a PNW style hazy ipa: hazy, full bodied, and marrying a fascinating array of dry, malty, vaguely British, crispy, fruity, dank elements together. Again, a popular and beloved reinterpretation from many top Portland-to-Seattle breweries.

As for the beer… i mean damn. Gorgeous quarter inch cap of tawny white foam seals a sandy golden hazy brew, medium to high carb, delicate but ornate aromas of hay, esther, dainty biscuity bready sourdough notes, and a ride of a tropical alliumy mildly piney hop bath.

I love this beer. A little sweet so split it if you’re sensitive to that to still enjoy the 8 oz. Compare to many trilliums, treehouses, socal hazies, some chicago hazies, and especially Mind Circus from Russian River. Cheers fellow nerds

Canned Oct 18th, 7 days ago. NEIPA pour, hazy with a light head. Aroma is citrus fruity. Taste is straight hops with a smooth, viscous mouthfeel . Slightly sweet, long lingering aftertaste with a clean finish that brings up rye bread notes with a noticeable but pleasant earthiness. Very well done.

Nice hazy medium golden brew with a thinning white head, let’s give er a try. Pretty nice tropical citrus based nose is fairly potent and certainly a plus. Wonderful flavor that’s on the sweet side to defeat most of the bite on this brew. Dare I say a creamy finish really rounds this beer out. Good stuff !

16oz can purchased for $3.99 somewhere in Spokane, either Community Pint or Huckleberry's. And on October 30th, 20/20, her the stamp on the bottom of the can. Below the date stamp, it says " swish swish. "

Poured into a Fort George nonic pint glass, this was an opaque honey-yellow color, with a finger of off-white head that dropped fairly quickly. Spotty lace.

Citrus and tropical fruit-like aromas up front. I get a little bit of melon and small amount of peppery spiciness as well.

Tropical fruitiness up front, but switches to a more old school grapefruit bitterness midway through, although at a lower amplitude than a true West Coast IPA. Although there's a tiny bit of dweetness in the background, the finish is fairly dry. Unusual, but tasty.

Medium bodied, with a somewhat soft mouthfeel.

Interesting. Almost like a hazy / West Coast hybrid. It is extremely drinkable stuff. I would definitely hit it again.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has slight hints of amber hues. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of citrus hops are present in the nose - oranges seem to stand out in particular.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional tropical notes of mangos and papayas.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and a bit juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is both citrusy and tropical and is hardly bitter at all.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy honey color with a one finger head; decent retention and some streaks of lacing

Smell: The Maris Otter malt intermingles with the hops to create a rather unusual aroma with orange, peach, papaya and guava

Taste: Orange flavors forward with the fruit cocktail of peach, papaya and guava emerging; low bitterness overall, with the peach flavors blossoming

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Really interesting NE IPA; I like the creativity but it wasn't my favorite flavor profile

To date this is my favorite IPA . Fort George now makes my favorite hazy pale ale with “City of Dreams“ and now my favorite IPA with Crysknife. I just shared a can with my son and he could hardly talk he was so impressed! The only other IPA that might compare would be Julius. However, I have not had the good fortune of imbibing such an amazing brew. For me this is as good as it gets! Amazing job Fort George!!!

Poured from a can at OMF. Hazy orange with little head. Bursting with citrus scents and a tame yet complex flavor of hoppy juicy greatness. Thick feel to cap off one of the best NE style ipas I’ve ever had.

This is a really good fruity hazy type IPA. I love a lot of the collaborations that Fort George has done, and this definitely adds to the list.

16 ounce can from Boise Co-op. Pours out a thick, hazy orange / golden color with a foamy head that subsides, leaving rings of lacing. Juicy Citrus Aroma, grapefruit peel. Taste also reflects the Citrus notes with a little bit of tropical fruit thrown in coupled with a nice creamy thick body. Nothing too fancy but really well-made. Make sure to swirl the can it before you pour out the the last bit, there's some good stuff lurking down there.
