Growler fill of Fields of Green from Last Drop Beer Shop. I'm not actually sure if this is the Lucy series, but it's a recent release, so I assume so. Per the brewery, Lucy features Citra, Azacca, Motueka, and Lotus hops. Whatever it is, it's a super thick, cloudy (ugly!) NE IPA with a juicy grapefruit aroma. On top of, or despite, the big dose of citrus and tropical fruit, there's an aggressive alpha bitterness to remind you, hey, this is still an IPA. Even though the flavors are delicious, that harshness on the back of the throat detracts from drinkability. This beer deceives the front of your palate with fruit and unfermented grain, and then drops a buttload of IBUs on the back of the palate. Pushing the limits of my lupulin receptors, indeed.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
