Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with great retention and nice lacing; looks good. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa, nuts, mild lactose and coffee. Flavor is semi-sweet dark toasted malt, lactose, light nuts, day old coffee and a little cocoa and a touch of char. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Solid dark malt body and enough lactose to provide a milk stout profile. Some nuts and chocolate, but the milkiness is the dominant flavor. A nice imperial milk stout and something unusual for this series.

Very dark brown with a thick finger of caramel crown that dissipates within a few minutes.
Nose is rich with chocolate covered nuttiness.
Taste brings chocolate and nuts as well. Loads of peanuts with lactose being very evident as well.
The lactose seems to thin this out a little too much for an imperial stout. It’s smooth though with no ABV in sight.
Overall, it’s a fun one. They did achieve the nuts, especially in the nose. I feel the lactose clouds it up a little in the taste & feel though.
