Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a hazy, medium to dark peachy orange, with a two finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of faint sweet malt, peaches and black tea, a touch of vanilla; earthy. Flavor is neutral malt, peaches, black tea and vanilla. A little earthy dry hay develops into the finish, which leaves lingering peach tea flavor. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. I came to this one with low expectations because I'm not a big fan of tea in beer and on the fence about strong fruit juice flavors in beer. I can't pass up a new Fort George, however. The aroma was odd, more peach than beer, but interesting. I was still surprised by the tea flavor in the first taste, but then the peach kicked in and damn if the whole thing wasn't supported by the malt quite nicely. They really did balance the tea, peach and vanilla flavors very well. I was sold on first taste, it is very flavorful and tasty. I actually had to force myself to sip on this slowly, because it has a well covered hefty ABV. Earlier today, I wouldn't have believed I'd be saying this, but I'm going to grab another bottle of this if I can find it. It is unlike anything else I've ever had, and is very good. I'm still confused about the combination of peaches, sweet tea, Southern porch swings, gators and Maine. Maybe I'm supposed to be. Unusual and delicious.
