Poured from a 16 ounce can dated 3-24-25 into a tulip glass at 49 degrees.
Look- Straw, mildly hazy, white sudsy head, plentiful tiny visible particulate, above average head retention, average lacing.
Smell- Pine resin, clementine, dank, between medium and high strength of scent.
Taste- Pine resin, clementine, lemon grass, high strength of flavor.
Feel- Medium body, average carbonation, highly bitter, highly creamy, moderately dry finish, mildly mouth warming.
Overall- Fantastic WCIPA that has the perfect balance of pine resin and citrus. It has perfect dryness at the finish to keep me craving the next sip. The flavor is minimally brighter than the original version. The look and feel characteristics have small differences, but overall this is an improvement over the already outstanding original.

Stoked to try this one, the original is looked at as one of the best NWIPA options out there, though it isn't my favorite overall. Double dry-hopping will only improve this, correct? 16oz can pours out a honey-like gold color with moderate haze, no particulates, and a fluffy off-white head that rises to three fingers. Hoppy nose for sure, there are elements of a bready sweetness there but overall this is mostly a strong floral, somewhat resiny and piney nose, with impressions of grapefruit, citrus pith, generic tropical fruit, and a bit of dankness. The palate lines up with this, there is enough of a malt base that it is detectable here, along with lots of sweet candied orange, floral honey, fresh flowers, some fresh grass, pine, grapefruit, just a really pleasant somewhat old-school experience. Medium bodied, nice present bitterness, refreshing, not overly dry but definitely inviting.
A winner.

FORT GEORGE VORTEX IPA – BLUE CAN 7.2 ABV
This is a double dry hopped Ipa which I got from my son.
It pours a yellow color with a low head. The taste is a fruity blend with peach and pineapple rind, grape skin, straw and limon lime flavors. This is big hazy beer I love. There is some different tastes here with some uncommon hops used. Made with appollo, centennial, chinook, comet, comet CGX and Simcoe hops. I recommend this beer.

Thanks, Chris!
I'm not the biggest fan of the regular Vortex, but this is definitely up my alley. Pungent, bitter, resiny with grapefruit, pine, pith, this is a quenching IPA. Definite dankness present. Resiny on the finish with lingering hop oils and a touch of sweetness that works nicely with the hops.

Look: Clear yellow and my pour invigorates a frothy white head to rapidly form and slowly settle to a lid, leaving a ring of lacing behind
Aroma: I could smell it on the pour. Grapefruit, Cannabis, pine, strawberries, fir needles, blueberries, Cara cara orange, wafts of mango, kumquats, gooseberries, and some sweet malt
Taste: Whoa. Pithy, juicy, and intense citrus notes come firing on all cylinders, along with resinous pine to start it off and hit hard before settling in some. Diesel and fruity terpenes and mixed berries join the fun in the middle and every now and then, some mango comes through. Closes with citrus, conifer, raw hop cones, and a big-time bite
Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, clean, medium-high carbonation, and dry on the finish
Overall: This beer is awesome. My first spotting of the first of the 17th Anniversary Vortex beers, this one the DDH, was an easy buy and it is not only tasty as hell, like the O.G. Vortex, but a great representation of what dry-hopping can bring to the table in the flavor/aroma departments. Outstanding and a great start to the homage of one of my favorite beers these folks brew. Highly recommended

Can dated March 28th. Pour is a golden, lightly hazed, thin head. Nose is highly floral, like walking into greenhouse. The strong hop profile in their Vortex is turned way up on this one. Full-on hop flavor with pronounced, but well-moderated bitterness comes right out and makes a statement. Body is dry; no residual sweetness. Overall, a step up from the well-regarded mainline version, if such a thing is possible. Ft. George has pulled off a real winner of a beer.

this is positively lights out, an enhanced version of an already wonderful northwestern ipa, a timeless beer really, and this special edition takes it to the next level, i feel thankful to have been able to drink this at the source! sappy unfiltered looking honey colored brew with a tall and lacy white head, looks awesome in the glass, not way different from the original. the nose though is transformed, really tropical to me up front, candied citrus, mango, and white grape, more familiar pine and weedy notes too, definitely dank and sticky, somehow still kind of delicate, and not green at all, balanced by the malt perfectly, this beer seems built to handle a big extra hopping like this. this is simcoe forward to me, but the comet hops in it are awesome, this is a variety thats been around a minute but never seemed to hit as trendy, i think its part of what makes vortex so distinct, and to me its even more pungent in this version. in the taste there is sweet orange and pineapple fruitiness, slightly floral honey and mango sweetness in the middle, and later it comes on just a bit bitter, white winey, and with a little spruce and bitter grapefruit. the freshness is insane on this, and it reminds me of drinking some of the classic california ipa types at their very best, its palate coating and fully satisfying. i am a huge fan of the original, but the intensity and uniqueness of the hops in this special edition make it especially amazing. so thankful for this experience, they should make this full time!
