We make Fields of Green when we feel like it and every batch is different. That way it’s always FRESH. But it’s never as FRESH as this year’s FRESH HOP Fields of Green. We managed to get our hand on enough Fresh Simcoe to sink a canoe or feed a full-grown Indian Elephant for 2 days or stuff 128 standard bed pillows. Rather than feed an elephant - we made beer. Beer is historically the best use of hops. But who knows what we’ll do next time. Those canoes won’t sink themselves.

Hops: Simcoe, Fresh Simcoe

Malts: Rahr Pilsner, Rahr Northstar
Pils, Flaked Wheat, White Wheat,
Weyermann Carafoam, Acidulated

Yeast: London DF

This was my introduction to Fresh Hop beer and my hands down favorite beer...ever.
I had this last year at the end of the fresh hop season. I bought every Fields of green beer I could find...then the season was over.

I hope they have it this year and is what drove me to get on this website almost a year later....
As far as the ratings, I could care less about the look and feel (also don't remember)....This was damn good!

The color is sort of cloudy orange. Nose is full on pine! Head was off white and gave way to nice lacing. Taste was citrus and pine with decent bitterness on the backend. Love the fresh hops!

This one was delicious, fresh and hoppy. Opaque golden pour with off-white head. Very juicy and grassy simultaneously, citrusy and smooth with a good amount of underlying malt base. Floral, green, creamy and full. Well done FG.

Canned 9/12. Pours orange with a big persistent fluffy white head. Herbal and floral scents, slightly citrusy, slightly dank. Citrusy, juicy, mildly dank piney flavors. Crisp, clean sipper, subtle booze presence. Very good example of the style.

16oz can from Hops & Bottles. Bright, Hazy orange golden pour, white foamy head eventually subsides. Citrusy aroma, orange and tangerine. Taste is fruity, tangerine, grassy, light hop tingle. Full bodied and so flavorful
