If you’re friends with a geologist, you know they are going to occasionally give you some choice samples of porphyritic amygdaloidal basalt they found on a hike. Well, when you’re friends with a hop farm, it’s much the same. But with cool new hop products.
FOCUS is a collaboration with Crosby Hop Farms, focusing in on their choicest Estate Grown hops and new CGX Lupulin Pellets. Bright fruit flavor and a hint of honey sweetness balance the zesty tropical flavor of Comet CGX, Amarillo, and Motueka Hops. FOCUS is available this fall in 16 oz 4-packs all over the PNW.
Brewer's Notes
Hops: Simcoe, Comet, Strata Goo, Motueka, Amarillo, Comet CGX
Malts: Rahr Pilsner, Breiss Flaked Rice, GM Flaked Wheat
Yeast: London 2 ESB

2024 but seems to have all the same characters in the pool.
Poors mostly clear with light head.
Smells like white pine needles & white grapes to me. Really lite.
Tastes great even tho I doubted Amarillo. My fault FG.
Great beer!

16oz can from Hops & Bottles. Clear golden pour, one finger fluffy white head. Aroma is grapefruit peel and hop resin. Taste is citrusy, dank, juicy, resinous but still soft around the edges. Amazingly tasty. Beautiful pour, creamy textures. One of their best yet!

FG is always good and this is no exception; for a WC offering, this is more hazy than I expected. Floral and zesty nose and palate of pine and fir, savory earthy notes, with some lemon and tangerine as well. Balanced, clean, and fresh.

Look: Pure yellow and clear with a huge, billowing white head that ever-so-slowly settles to a pillow and leaves awesome lacing behind
Aroma: I could smell it on the pour. Pine sap and needles, crushed fir needles, Cannabis, white grapefruit, blueberries, orange, raspberries, tangelo, and bready malt
Taste: Kicks off with a strong combo of tangelos, grapefruit, and orange that hit hard and develop depth as a bold, strong conifer wave crashes in. Pine and fir hang for a minute as fruity and gassy Cannabis and mixed berries shine in the final act before it closes with a nice bite
Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, medium-high carbonation, and minute but felt dryness on the finish
Overall: This is a damn good WCIPA. I’m a sucker for Comet hops as they remind me and my palate a lot of Mosaic while also bringing more Cannabis to the table so I figured I would like this and do. Some nice conifer, berry, and citrus in this that really ‘pops’ and all in a nice, low-end ABV, clear, IPA package. Props to these folks as I’ve been drinking a lot of this recently and highly recommended

Poured from a 16 ounce can dated 9-6-23 into a tulip glass.
Look- Pale gold, highly hazy, white frothy head, plentiful visible particulate, average lacing, slightly above average head retention.
Smell- Dank, pine resin, grapefruit, medium strength of scent.
Taste- Grapefruit, pine resin, pith, between medium and high strength of flavor.
Feel- Between medium and full body, average carbonation, moderately bitter, moderately creamy, mildly dry finish, soft, mildly mouth warming, no astringency.
Overall- This was a delicious beer that was classified as a West Coast IPA, but had some properties of a NEIPA. This beer showcased the aromatics and flavor profile of Comet hops very well.

Exceptionally good! A collaboration with Crosby hops, the lupulin loveliness here should be no surprise.
Straw color, faint haze but mainly clear, nice pure white finger head settling into a fine ring and light but beautiful lacing.
Pine, lemon, spruce, lime. Faint strawberry, lavender, valencia orange. Some super unique phenolic stuff i can’t quite place (peachy?). Blueberry/black raspberry cotton candy? Really different noted but all feels totally at home. Impressive!
The feel is bang on. Dense fizz but light and medium dry. 6.5% abv feels spot on here. Delicious grain work.
Thx mactrail for the comet hop id! Cool stuff, very unique and tasty.

This seems to be a new variation with different hops than 2022: Simcoe, Comet, Strata Goo, Motueka, Amarillo, and Comet CGX. Clear amber brew with plenty of foam in the Brigand chalice. Abundantly aromatic with peach and citrus. Distinct peach flavor with a zingy acidic finish. Some sugar along with the malty background. There is a bit of resin and citrus; it's a great advert for Comet hops. This is quite lovely and less outrageous than a lot of recent IPA adventures. And the aroma is out of this world. Dated 09/06/23 with "Comet to the Moon!" on the bottom.
