From a crowler loaded at the brewery. Pours a porter-like dark brown, an or so of head settles down to a skim coat. Nose is roasted malts, very nice, but fleeting. Low carbonation is typical of an English mild ale. Taste is spot-on, as they would say in the English Midlands, where this type of beer was popular. Taste is likewise mild, very light bitterness, a light touch on the tongue. It's a session beer, just right for a couple pints while playing darts in a cozy English pub. Bangers and mash are up next.
