Pours a dark brown, but not opaque, in the glass. Light head, fades away. Nose is very light, some yeasty notes. Taste is quite subdued, dry and with a long finish. Modest 5.5% ABV. A bit light in the body compared to the Irish-brewed varieties.

nice clean and simple stout, irish yeast for sure, dry and roasty without much middle malt body or sweetness, drinkable, earthy, frothy and satisfying, feels right to be drinking this on a rainy wintery day. matte black and frothy headed from the tap, fills the glass nicely. i smell roast, bread yeast, and minerals, i get some light smoke too, but this is somewhat subtle, very much classically styled to me. the flavor is mellow at first but an almost brine-like or even oceanic mineral element comes in which makes this unique to me, relaxed as it is, nice bitter malt too, nothing sweet or long boiled about it, and an old world yeast thats wet and doughy, just right for this, and it ends up being a beer i could drink a ton of because its light in body and low in alcohol for a stout, not as flashy as a lot of the other fort george stouts, but just as good from a technical standpoint. it feels almost healthy, minimal and tight in a good way, and perfect for this time of year really. i cant get enough from these guys right now, everything is so dialed in across the board. this wont get a ton of hype but its really good beer.
