Topaz Farm is a three-generation family-owned and run farm 20 minutes outside of Portland. It’s also one of the coolest music venues in the state, hosting a rad summer concert series.

Topaz, if it’s a beer, is brewed light and refreshing with a focus on rockstar hops, Citra & Strata, a low ABV, and that characteristic dusky summer shimmer: music just beginning as sunbeams stretch over freshly cut fields.
Hops: Citra, Columbus, Galaxy, Simcoe, Strata
Malts: Rahr Pilsner, Great Western White Wheat, Weyermann Acidulated, Great Western C15
Yeast: London DF

Look: Looks like City of Dreams on the pour. Bright, almost glowing yellow and straight up hazy with a lofty white head

Aroma: I could smell it on the pour. Apricots, ripe peach, wafts of pineapple, mandarins, nectarine, and sweet Hawaiian rolls

Taste: Peach and apricot team up and strike hard on the first punch with loads of ripe fruit and juice in tow and as those start to settle in, mandarins join the fray. Pineapple and nectarine carry the middle, all atop a pillowy, soft, and sweet malt base until peach and apricot return to the forefront to close it out

Mouthfeel: Full, soft, velvety smooth, medium-high carbonation, and soft and smooth on the finish

Overall: I dig it. I thought these folks had made this beer or at least named one similarly last year but it wasn’t a hazy so bought some to gift to my dad (and try myself) and it’s good. A very stone fruit forward beer with a ton of juiciness but not overdone and once again, these folks defy the norm and typically make hazies that are in my wheelhouse, as this one is. Tasty, well-made, and recommended

Couldn't pass this up.

Pours slightly hazy. I get a bouquet of peaches guava and passion fruit, with more of the stone fruit notes on the sip. Easy drinking, fresh on tap.

Canned 8/13/24. Incredible fruit aromas when opened, produced from a yellow hazy pour. Modest head. First sip is fairly dry, fruity with just a touch of bitterness. Well-carbonated, it has a great deal of body and a long finish. ABV is 5.2%. The beer is listed as a Pale Ale, and definitely give this one a chance.

FORT GEORGE – TOPAZ 5.2 abv
This was a birthday gift from my son.
This is a rare beer that you can smell easily upon opening with smell being fruit and veggie mix.
This beer says it a beer made between Fort George and Topaz farms. That is an odd label but the answer is this farm on Sauvie Island grows this rare Australian hop. The beer pours a very cloudy light golden color. The taste is light peach, apricot and plum with semi - sweet balanced with low acid bite. It’s a wonderful brew with enough body that most IPA drinkers should like even if they are not fans of hazys. The presence of plumb skin makes it a fruit bite not a hop bite which I really like. This is a great hop that was created in 2011. Its cost may limit its use as it joins galaxy, Citra, Sabro and Nelson Sauvin as being most expensive hops to use. I highly recommend.
