Pours a finger of soapy white head into my Willi. Retention is whatever. Lacing is nonexistent. Body is yellow, crystal clear, with a hefty nucleation. Looks poor.
Nose is a lovely dose of berries and rich tropical fruits - strawberries and mango to name a few. Pine acts as a sturdy backbone. Smells great.
Some stone fruit comes through on the flavor, faint grain, the palate is pretty safe until pine hits in the finish. Definitely drinks like a pale ale.
Has a somewhat dry impression but there is a touch of sweetness hiding here. Carbonation is relatively high which gives a perceived body, and when clashed with an elevated bitterness there is a pretty serious mouthfeel here.
Drinkability is ok but it does get bitter at times.
Easy to forget this is a pale ale with the nose, but the flavor is reminiscent of other classics. Overall a nice beer.
