Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a very slight haze and a fine, one finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, dank and tropical fruit hops, catty dankness, mixed topical fruit, lemon and black pepper. Flavor is pale malt, dank and mixed fruit hops, dankness, ripe tropical fruit, lemon, black pepper; spicy. Very nice forward bitterness with touch of fruit esters in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A busy, but ultimately satisfying and bitter IPA with lots of New Zealand fruit and spicy hop character. The dankness was both catty and herbal. I'm always charmed by clear fruit ester notes from hops and they show up late in the taste leaving a nice base for the alpha oil bitterness. Kinda on the fence about the hop bill, but won over by the esters and welcome bitterness. Fort George rarely disappoints.

Look: Golden yellow and nearly clear with a short-lived head that settles quickly to a lid, leaving decent lacing behind

Aroma: White table grapes, lychee, crushed fir needles, Cannabis, light papaya, some pine, wafts of diesel, and bready malt. This smells awesome

Taste: Fir needles, pine, and grapes come out swinging and it hard before developing depth and synergy. Lychee and Cannabis come next with a lot of fruity and gassy dank on the forefront as light tropical fruit dances in the backdrop throughout. Closes with oily conifer, grapes, dank, and a great bite

Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, clean, medium-high carbonation, and lightly dry on the finish

Overall: This is some tasty stuff. After reading the hop bill that was listed on the label, this was a no-brainer as with both Nelson and Columbus hops in play, I figured dank and grapes would be prominent and I was right. It hits all those notes and in all the right ways throughout the journey and one I’d highly recommend if that flavor/aroma profile is your cup of tea

 

 

A fun new one from FG that boasts some eccentric and fun hop and oil varieties on the side of the can, that's what motivated me to pick it up. Clear straw-gold pour shows off ample carbonation bubbles and a clean white cap. Lots of weedy notes, maybe even diesel, with the Nelson coming through...oily, lemon seed, citrus peel...pale malt...crisp body...bitterness...dryness, Good stuff.

Clear amber brew with plenty of foam in the Stella goblet. Inviting fruity aroma with tangerine and melon. Rich and malty to start with a spritzy mouthfeel. Flavors of lime peel, a touch of lemon, mango, and the usual tasty green melon. Overall this is yet another New Zealand inspired hoppy brew that is very satisfying. From the 16 oz can purchased at the Fort George restaurant in Astoria. No apparent date but it's the Fall 2024 edition.

16oz can from Boise Co-op. Cloudy golden pour, thin layer of white foam gradually subsides. Hoppy, weedy, dank aroma. Taste is fruity, herbaceous, citrus, dank.

 

Canned10/29. Clear pour, very light head. Upon the pour, plenty of flavorful aromas come up; enjoy them while you can as they quickly fade. Taste is quite hoppy on the front, with a moderately dry finish. The hop flavors persist for a delightful very long finish. Lots of carbonation throughout, body is a bit viscous in a good way. The ABV runs 7.1%, just right for a WCIPA.

The beer is a very well made experiment in hop varieties and is delicious.
