EGGNOG STOUT Brewer and Quality Assurance Team Leader, David Plechl, is a fan of Eggnog. He has this to say about his Stout Nog creation, Nitro Nog Log: “The idea here was to capture that lovely spice, creamy sweetness and rich spirit vibe of a great eggnog, and nestle it all within the chocolate-y decadence of a really drinkable stout."
We brewed a ‘small’ stout which we then blended with one Basil Hayden aged Imperial Stout barrel, for depth, complexity and a kiss of oak and whisky. To push it a little bit farther, we conditioned the stout on cardamom pods and hand selected, rum-soaked vanilla beans. Being on nitro should make it all very “noggy.” And hey, look ma! No eggs!”
Hops: Chinook
Malts: Rahr 2 Row, GM Flaked Wheat, Pils, Crisp Pale Chocolate, Simpson’s Black Malt, C50
Other: Rum-Soaked Vanilla Beans, Cardamom Pods, Crushed Whole Nutmeg
