A fragrant, refreshing rice blonde ale with tea leaves. Tea Parties and Croquet Games was brewed with the help of our friends at Von Ebert for SheBrew, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to highlighting and advancing women and non-binary folks in the brewing industry. SheBrew has been around for a decade - making beer more equitable, more fair, more diverse and just plain better. Straight from the brilliant minds of Fort Brewer Christy Richards and Madeline McCarthy and Becca Linn from Von Ebert, we’re proud to present this one-of-a-kind rice blonde ale with tea leaves.

Look: Pours a nearly clear golden and a white head follows, slowly blooming to the rim and settling, leaving good lacing behind

Aroma: Freshly baked bread, honey, white tea, floral notes, rice water, lightly toasted bread, and herbal notes

Taste: Opens up with a kiss of a nectar-like sweet note, reminiscent of honey before the flood of white tea ensues. Dried camellia leaves, a mix of herbal notes I can’t pinpoint, and rice join the fun and continue developing as it winds to a close

Mouthfeel: Light but full, clean, medium-high carbonation, and clean and smooth on the finish

Overall: This is some good stuff. This one eluded me on its initial release but recently spotted a single so grabbed it as I dig the whole “light-style-of-beer-with-tea” thing I’ve seen in more recent years and figured these two brewers wouldn’t disappoint. It’s a tasty golden ale with a nice showing from both the jasmine rice and white tea blend – perfect for this warm evening

FORT GEORGE / VON EBERT – TEA PARTIES AND CROQUET GAMES - 5.3 abv
I had a Sparkies Brewery where I got a mug without tasting prior to ordering. The taste is light with a very different taste being light and somewhat tart. The brew shows a tart apple taste with some other citrus rind flavors as well. When I looked it up it’s a rice blond ale made with a tea leaves added. Its not my type of brew unless you go for light tart brews.

Weii, you gotta say the brew team does come up with more than a few imaginative names for beers.
Pours clear with a light head and no distinct aromas beyond a hint of flowers and biscuits. Taste is ... fine, if a bit different in character in some way; hard to define. Quite drinkable, just a hint of sweetness. -- which might be the fine touch of Von Ebert who's their collaborator. Finish is good, clean and has some legs. Just 5% ABV.

16oz can

Pours a small finger of white head into my Willi. Retention is average. Lacing is ok. Body is golden with just a slight haze, and a moderate nucleation. Looks good.

Nose is dominated by starchy rice. Not getting much tea. Smells decent, but a little grainy.

Flavor is similar until it opens up a little - starchy at first but smooths out into a lovely floral Jasmine character, with a hint of tea/fruit underneath.

Light bodied. Carbonation is medium. Bitterness is very modest. Well-attenuated but doesn’t drink too dry. Good mouthfeel.

Drinkability is great.

Takes a decent amount of time to warm but by the end of the glass this is quite an enjoyable flavor.
