Barley Brown’s Hand Truck Pale Ale meets Fort George’s Design Trends.

Trends. Design Trends. Fashion Trends. Stock Market Trends. Sports Trends. Truck Trends. We use a lot of hand trucks at Fort George. We’ve got around 40 altogether and sometimes that doesn’t seem like enough. Barley Brown’s uses a lot of hand trucks, too, but they also BREW a lot of Hand Truck Pale Ale. That’s why we worked together to design Truck Trends – with all of the trucks AND all of the trends – in a clean, citrusy West Coast Pale Ale.

Brewer's Notes

Look: Bright light yellow in color with a sudsy white head hat quickly rises to the rim and slowly settles, leaving great lacing behind

Aroma: I could smell it on the pour. Skunky Cannabis, navel orange, white grapefruit, pineapple, pine, passionfruit, blueberries, tangerines, papaya, fir needles, and light malt

Taste: Tangerine, orange, and grapefruit come bursting onto the palate with aggression, in the form of pithiness and sharpness, before slowly settling in. Crushed pine and fir needles and fruity and skunky Cannabis come next as pineapple and tropical fruit weave around and blueberries make a few cameos as well before pine and citrus return to center stage to close it out, along with a light but noticeable bite

Mouthfeel: Full, very clean, medium-high carbonation, and dry on the finish

Overall: This is an outstanding beer. I honestly hadn’t heard about it or overlooked it in anticipation of fresh hop season but saw Barley Brown’s was involved, delved into the details and scored some. The hop mix is awesome and right in line with my flavor preferences, it’s a super clean feeling beer, and it’s a pale ale that could easily be called an IPA and pass the test. I only grabbed a single to try but plan on getting a 4-pack soon – it’s that good. Highly recommended

16oz can

Pours a finger of fizzy white head into my Willi. Retention is subpar. Lacing is void. Body is golden yellow, slightly cloudy, with a moderate nucleation. Doesn’t look very good.

Nose is soft and fruity, full of mango, papaya, and lighter notes of kiwi and pineapple. Smells great.

Tropical fruit is present on the flavor, some faint dank undertones. Soft / creamy character. Not super complex, but tastes great.

Body is medium. Hops give a little sweet impression, but it drinks pretty clean. An elevated carbonation and forward bitterness make for a vibrant mouthfeel.

Drinkability is nice.

Overall a flavorful pale ale, with a lively mouthfeel.
