A 16 ounce draft pour into a Willi Becher glass at a public house.
Look- Straw, very hazy, white sudsy head, average head retention, slightly below average lacing.
Smell- Grapefruit, mandarin, slight ripe cantaloupe, medium strength of scent.
Taste- Grapefruit, mandarin, pith, medium strength of flavor.
Feel- Medium body, average carbonation, mild astringency, mild bitterness, mildly mouth warming, mildly creamy.
Overall- The appearance was very hazy and straw with attributes that represent the NEIPA style nicely. The bouquet was a pleasant mix of citrus with melon undertones. The flavor was predominantly citrus with too much pith flavor and nothing else adding balance. The feel was medium bodied with mild bitterness, but the astringency was a detractor. Overall this beer was decent, but not on par with what this brewery normally produces.
