At Fort George, we’ve been making wood-fired pizza for over a decade. Our friends at North Park Beer Co. also know a thing or two about pizza. They’re well-known throughout San Diego for serving up sensational thin-crust pizza, superb hazy IPAs, and splendidly sociable vibes. And this winter, we’re coming together to bring you Pizza Pals – a Hazy IPA brewed in honor of great beer, great pizza, and friendship.
Celebrate the world’s most logical food and beverage pairing with a pint of Pizza Pals. Available all winter long, wherever you get good beer.
Brewer's Notes
Can art by Mike Bennett.
Hops: Citra, Eclipse, Citra Cryo, Citra Dynaboost, Citra CO2 Extract, Simcoe Cryo
Malts: Briess Pilsen, Malted Oats, Crisp Chit, Weyermann Acidulated

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to a firm layer and laces very nicely.
S: Almost overripe tropical and orchard fruit plus melon, citrus, floral and grassy, a little resinous pine, faint hints of coconut, crackery biscuity malt, and light caramel sweetness.
T: Fresh citrus, mandarin orange and lime, floral notes, tropical and stone fruit, peach, pear, melon, papaya, pineapple, strawberry, and apricot, resinous pine, a bit grassy and slightly herbal, dare I say a touch of coconut, crackery biscuity malt, and a little
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate.
O: This one had me questioning my palate at times because I kept finding flavors that I wasn't expecting given the hop combo. I wish I liked this as much as others, but to me there's just so much going on and all the flavors are fighting each other rather than coming together. I came in with such high hopes given the description and the involvement of North Park, but this unfortunately lands for me as a rare letdown from Fort George.

Poured from a 16 ounce can dated 1-6-26 into a tulip glass at 51 degrees F.
Appearance- Pale straw, very hazy, white frothy head, slightly above average head retention and lacing.
Aroma- Tangerine, grapefruit, papaya, lemon, slight pine resin, slightly dank, between medium and high strength of scent.
Flavor- Papaya, tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, slight pine resin at finish, white grape, pith, high strength of flavor.
Feel- Between medium and full body, average carbonation, moderately creamy, moderately bitter, mildly sweet, mildly astringent, mildly mouth warming, soft.
Overall- Pale straw and very hazy with slightly above average head retention and lacing. The bouquet was a nice medium-high strength mix of tangerine, grapefruit, papaya, lemon with some slight pine and dank notes. The flavor packed even more intensity than the nose with similar components, but some white grape and pith were layered in resulting in an increased complexity. The mouthfeel consisted of a medium-full body with moderate creaminess and bitterness. It was mildly astringent, which I consider a detractor. Overall, this beer was above average in every category and a pleasure to drink.

Pours a hazy golden color with a large foamy head. Aroma is semi-sweet citrus as is taste with a creamy mouthfeel. Very tasty beer, better than some of the earlier Pizza Pals beers. DOB12-15-2025

Look: Hazy and bright yellow on the pour, which initiates a poofy white head that slowly calms to a pillow and leaves awesome lacing behind
Aroma: I could smell it on the pour. Mango, pink and white grapefruit, pine, fruity Cannabis, strawberries, Cara cara orange, melon, Juicy Fruit gum, and bready malt
Taste: Mango and Cara cara orange get the party started, hitting hard up front with juicy and fruity notes before being joined by waves of grapefruit and strawberries. Pine and dank mix in next, along with melon and then whole ensemble continues developing and deepening until Juicy Fruit gum, orange, and mango close it out, along with a light bite
Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, clean, soft, medium-high carbonation, and soft and smooth on the finish with some slickness
Overall: This is some tasty stuff. An annual treat and another winner from these folks and this series continues to blur the line between NE and WC-style IPA flawlessly. A delicious mix of flavors/aromas throughout and a tweener mouthfeel help seal the deal. Definitely worth the 4-pack purchase and highly recommended

Looks the part
Smells delish
Taste - what the hell is that fruity pebbles blast right in the middle? Too weird.
Usually one of my favorites to get me to spring.

From Good Times Oakland, canned December 9th 2025.
Pours a hazy yellow with an initial big head of foam, shrinks quickly but overall retention is good. Lacing is good as well.
The smell is grapefruit, orange zest, pineapple, quite fruity in general.
The taste is grapefruit, orange zest, sweet pineapple, some dank notes. Quite typical of the style.
Medium bodied with lightish carbonation.
I would not bother drinking this again. That's just me.

ive loved this series since its inception, beers and concept, and this is another great one, up there with the very best hazy types out there right now, done with north park, and just absolutely gorgeous, easy drinking and frankly well refined for a hazy, dynamic on the hops, so satisfying to drink, i adored this and am exited to have a couple more pint cans in my beer fridge! fort george continues to dominate everyone and just about everything. quite pale and starchy looking, a thick seriously almost nitro type white head to this an inch and half high with zero retreat, lots of life to this, love how pale it is overall, and how creamy. the nose is sick, hop products for sure, cyro-like with that early start, lemon and lemon candy up front, lush and tropical with mango and melon rind character coming out, and then some almost juniper and sage herbal character late, but this is pretty fruity overall, green grapes, white wine, green pears, meyer lemons, coconut water, yellow peach, amazing, so fresh too. the up front potency is also there in the flavor, hop products for sure, lots of that from fort george lately, but they have it down. citra and simcoe evident, lemon and grapefruit, light pine and weed, but also something bringing mango and stone fruit, especially right in the middle, papaya and hints of vanilla and even honey late, some flashes of almost sweetness at times with all the hops, oils on the palate but not green or harsh or oversaturated despite the robustness overall, and bitterness is very low. this has awesome linger to it without it going vegetal at all, i get coconut and candied citrus peel as it warms, a subtle enhancing juicy type yeast aspect, and a nice soft pillowy grain base with good flavor, oats for sure, seriously fluffy and creamy, very well carbonated, and easy drinking as this sort of thing goes. just peak hop potency and freshness and movement, which is key, each second of this is an evolution, and thats awesome. modern as heck, good as it gets!
edit: even a few months old in the beer fridge now this makes an impression, easily one of the best hazy ipa types ive had in recent memory, holding up super well, so lively and clean on the palate, i wish more of these felt like this, a true piece of brilliance, sad to have my last can gone, i wont soon forget this one...

Hazy they say, hazy it is indeed. Out of the can, the aroma of fresh citrus fruit, with a touch of tropical mango. Color is a light straw. Head fades away. Taste is a very full fruit with plenty oh hop flavor, feel is superbly smooth -- no doubt due to the oats added to the malt bill. Plentiful carbonation, long finish. This year's version is much better than last's. Highly recommended.

Cloudy, white, greenish-yellow. Quickly vanishing head. Pineapple and basil smell. Tastes of blended herbs and passionfruit. Gentle, soda-like texture.

Pale as the dead with a lofty white head that is slow to dissipate. It is reminiscent of pineapple juice, which makes sense once it has been tasted. Pineapple is certainly present, as are oranges, mango, and key limes. The mouthfeel is rich and pleasant, proper hazy. On the whole, a great beer I will return to again and again while it remains on the shelf at my local WinCo.
