A super-charged, explosively flavorful West Coast IPA from Breakside Brewery and Fort George.

We’ve been beer friends for over a decade, we’ve been neighbors in Astoria for years, but this is the first time we’ve brewed a collaboration together. Though the road to Malibu Grand Prix IPA has been much longer than its namesake novelty go-kart track, the result is guaranteed to be more fun, more adventurous, and more enduring with new experimental hop varieties and every flavor-boosting, fun-enhancing hop ingredient we could muster.

BREWER'S NOTES
Hops: Bract 106, Simcoe, Mosaic Cryo, Dolcita Cryo / Lupomax, Columbus Cryo, Simcoe C02 Extract, Mosaic Hyperboost, Nelson Amplifier Oil
Malts: Gambrinus Pils, Rahr 2Row, Flaked Wheat, Acidulated

Look: The pour brings about a clear, light yellow liquid that quickly fills the glass and balloons a nice head that retains well

Aroma: Cantaloupe melon, white table grapes, sweetened strawberries, mandarin, pomelo, fruity Cannabis, pine, and light malt

Taste: Crushed pine needles signal the start and quickly followed by melon and grapes that blend beautifully and set the stage for the citrus parade that ensues. Mandarin and pomelo in play, along with sweet strawberries and dank and these go back and forth with melon/grape through to the close, where a nice bite signals the end

Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, clean, good carbonation, and clean on the finish with a hint of dryness

Overall: This is a really good beer. Two powerhouses collaborating on a WCIPA you say? Yep, I’m in and this did not disappoint. A delicious and well-made WCIPA that has a unique aroma/flavor profile and also a lighter body and to me, flirts with tasting like a Cold IPA. Highly recommended

This was a Christmas gift from my son. It is a joint project with Breakside Brewery. At first sip I could tell this is a wonderful brew that’s totally my kind of beer. There is a great blend of citrus with flavors of pineapple and melon rind with a little brook plum mixed in. I really like it and recommend it fully.

16oz at party. Didn't get a good look at it, as I drank from the can. Aroma and taste more than make up for it. Beautiful light citrusy aroma and flavors, creamy feel, so damn tasty. Smooth

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a two finger white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and piney hops, lemon, pine, light grapefruit and mild dankness. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and piney hops, pine, lemon, grapefruit, a little catty dankness and slight mixed tropical fruit going into the finish. Lingering piney and citrus rind bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A fine West Coast profile IPA in the crisp, light malt mode. Lots of hop character, but pine seems to be the main act. Bitterness grows through out the taste and the lingering aftertaste is full of hoppy goodness. Well done, as expected.

Canned 12/4, pour is crystal clear beer with a sticky foam head. Pleasant aroma, all resinous piney - like sawing into a fresh pine tree. You're in store for a treat as you take a sip: plenty of pine, then floral notes come up with a healthy carbonation, quite dry with no apparent sweetness. Finish is flawless: strong and smooth. Just 7% ABV.
