Served in straight pint glass. Poured a cloudy and hazy orangeish amber color with just a thin ring of white head that somehow managed to have decent retention.
The aroma had some base grains showing through, just a light bit of the expected yeasty spice that I look for in the style, just a very light hint of peppers. On the tongue, the featured peppers (Jalapeno, Anaheim, Habanero, and fourth type I don't recall) were a bit more noticeable, but still very subtle. The expected spice and yeast had a low profile, and the malts were very subdued as well. In general, I didn't get a ton of different flavors out of this brew, but opinions varied amongst the other folks trying it.
The body was pretty good, smooth, even, and with a slightly dry finish. Drinkability was good enough, I didn't hate my pint, but it didn't thrill me either. Overall, this was an OK beer. If you're feeling a bit adventurous when you see it, give it a shot.
