Served in straight pint glass. Poured black, with just a hint of a reddish tint on the edges, and only a thin cap of tan head that had low retention and no lacing.
The predominant scent was a mild roast, with nice base malts underneath. On the tongue, the roast was again the featured aspect, hitting all along the palate and lingering on the finish. I didn't pick up any of sea taste that the oyster liquor was supposed to provide, but I rarely do in oyster stouts.
The body was a bit thinner than I generally like in a stout. Drinkability was OK, but I don't think I'd have 2 a day, one seemed plenty. Overall, a solid, if somewhat unexciting brew. Worth trying if you see it.
