Arrived a mostly cloudy, light orange to yellow color. Kind of chunky in appearance. A soft white head but did not last through the tasting. Not much lacing as well.
The nose is not what I expected. There is a unique ginger aroma that blends well with a light sweet malt aroma. The cherry notes are present but very subtle. There is more ginger nose than there is cherry. Some minor wheat notes as well with a hint of spiciness. A light pepper note and some minor citrus/orange aromas.
The taste is no where near the expectations of a Cherry Wheat. The ginger comes out and blends with a lactic sourness. A nice taste overall but no cherry flavor whatsoever. The malt is soft with hints of wheat and a light biscuit malt flavor. There is a light citrus finish. This is like a light sour ginger beer. Very unique and is tasty but based off of style, no where near what it should be.
The body is light, almost along the lines of a sour. I had to ask twice that this was indeed the Cherry Wheat (which the waitress said it was). Overall a good beer minus the lack of cherry, the sourness and the ginger coming out.
