On tap at the original Uncle Billy's location.

The beer pours a slightly hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the grain and wheat, with not too much else going on. Fairly bland overall.

The flavor is a little bit more exciting, but still pretty boring. I mainly get grain, as well as some grass. There is also a little bit of floral character, but it is subtle.

Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

A: Pours a hazy golden color. A one finger white head forms and recedes to a small ring. Light lace is left behind.
S: A nice citrus hop aroma up front. Some banana esters as well. Bread, biscuit, and some cereal malt for balance and depth.
T: Citrus hops up front like the nose. Plenty of banana esters as well. Well balanced with bread and biscuit malt. Light cereal grains. The flavors are really clean. I like it.
M/D: A light to medium body. Medium carbonation, and not watery at all. Crisp, clean, and dry. So easy to drink. All do with this one.

This is very nice. Easy drinking with plenty of flavor. Perfect for a hot summer Texas day, or anytime while quaffing some beers at the brewpub. Recommended.

slight haze, summer gold beer aroma is sweet, light graininess. starts seet and fizzy. fresh bright light flavor, finish is a bit tart. like it has a squeeze of lemon in it. etoh and hops don't have much presence. light body easy to drink. good summer beer.

Appears a mostly clear golden color with a creamy bone-white head. Decent retention and some lacing.

Smell is fruity like a kolsch...smartees candy and strawberries. Light grainy maltiness with a sweet floral hop presence. Smells fresh and clean.

Flavor has a wheaty tang and a bit of fruity zest. A bit raw and not the smoothest of blondes, but overall not a bad brew. Definitely tastes fresh with a nice cascade hop bite on the finish. A fine ale I would happily quaff again.

After checking with the bartender, this is indeed brewed with kolsch yeast even though at this time BA has it listed as a American Blonde Ale.

I tried all 5 of Uncle Billy’s Beers when they first opened, and this wasn't one of my favorites, although it still wasn't bad at all. I found the color very light yellowish-green. almost a celery green or energy drink color to it, which wasn’t too appealing. Smelled very definitively to me of apple juice, some how. Very light, refreshing, with a hearty, grain flavore in the aftertaste that I really liked. Very drinkable and enjoyable, especially on a hot day.

Appearance: crystal-clear medium golden color, with a moderate white head, thick glass-coating lace, moderate carbonation.

Aroma: Abundant pale malt, pleasant herbal hops, possibly Hallertau.

Taste: Opens with a moderate herbal hop presence, with a backbone of pale malt beneath. As the taste progresses, citrus and herbal hop notes become more prominent.

Mouth feel: Smooth and full, quite pleasant, with a bit of zesty carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: Pleasing and drinkable, a good choice for summertime.

Sampled on tap at Uncle Billy's on October 13th, 2007.

Very similar to Real Ale's Fireman's #4. Very light blonde color with some noticeble haze. Server confirmed that the beer is unfiltered. Very little hop flavor but a nice aroma. Not too sweet IMHO. My buddy and I agreed that you could drink this all day long. Went very well with the bar-b-q.

Menu states "Inspired by one of America's traditional 19th-century beer styles: cream ale". Shows up light in color with little aroma…some sweetness. Some malts and a touch of sweetness. Almost seems like an atempt at the local legend from Real Ale (#4) but falls short. Onces this brew warms up the aroma and taste do get better but still wasn't my favorite.
