had on tap at barton springs UB's 7/1/2011
a - opaque dark brown/black, with a finger of espresso brown creme of head, nice.
s - liquid smoke, leather, some imperial stout malt sweetness, but soy saltiness always present.
t - smokey, salty but balanced waxy dark malt sweetness. Similar to dogfish head india brown, but much smokier and not as hoppy finish, and has some of the rich sweet waxy maltiness and woodiness (and a bit of the alcohol kick) of Dog Fish Head's palo santo maron. Very nice.
m - medium to thick bodied, some substantial viscosity when you swirl in the mouth. Satisfying body.
d - very nicely drinkable, despite the strong flavors. Something about the smoke, salt, and sweet malts that is savory and keeps you wanting to taste more.
