Clear golden amber with plenty of foam in the Timmermans goblet. Pleasant woodsy aroma with cedar and leaf mold. Light sudsy body. Label says brewed with some rye, which might account for some of the bitter spicy taste. Resiny taste throughout. Rather bitter but quite sippable. From the 12 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station.

a solid modern lager here, not as obviously european as i thought it might be from a grain and lager yeast strain standpoint, but its also not overly americanized in the sense of being hop dominated. sure its more hoppy than the classics, but its not way out of proportion either, and i appreciate the restraint here as much as anything else, a very nice recipe for hot weather. its a little darker in color than anticipated, a bit of richer malt to this maybe, but it doesnt make the beer heavy, neither does the little bit of haze this shows, its light and dry and crisp, and the bittering hops help a lot with that. some clean citrus in the nose from the hops, sliced orange to me, a little grassy too though, and not too far away from noble vibes. the flavor is grain forward up front, light and crackery with a mild nuttiness, the hops take the back half, slightly green and increasingly bitter as it moves. neither element is too robust, but the near absence of lager yeast flavor makes them both stand out a little more than they might in a more fermentation driven example of the style, i dont mind the minimal nature of it here though, and its not totally invisible. high carbonation is necessary and they got that right, and overall its a tasty lighter beer thats anything but boring. double mountain continues to execute at a very high level across the board. always a fun place to visit, the new patio seating is fire!

Thanks to Kraus for grabbing this one for me. 12oz bottle (dated 2/2/210 poured into 14oz teku. Poured a bright, clean, lightly cloudy honey gold color with well over an inch of tall, dense, white head that had very good retention and good lacing.

The aroma had a solid grain/malt base with some bright grassy and floral hops on top.

Similar on the tongue, with the addition of a nice hit of bitterness on the finish.

The body was a bit fuller than is typical, smooth, and had a dry finish.

Drinkability was good, i could see draining more of these if they show up around here.

Overall, a pretty nice brew. Worth a shot if you see it.
