Pursuit of Sappiness is a new take on our classic brown ale from recent years, with the addition of maple syrup. This beer comes out of the can as a chocolate brown elixir with a mocha tinted creamy head. As you pour it into your glass of choice you are met with aromas of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, chocolate, maple syrup and molasses. First taste impressions closely mimic the aromas, with flavors of deeply caramelized sugars, maple syrup, and chocolate. The beer finishes with a slight touch of warmth to accompany the full body with enough carbonation to prepare your palate for another sip.

Drank the the Mayflower brewery. Has a sweet maple start with a toasty malt finish. Really balanced and drinkable.

A - Dark amber pour with a dense, two fingered creamy head that cements to the sides of the glass.
S - Toasted caramel, toffee, with a delicate trace of molasses on the nose.
T - Toasted caramel, toffee, maple, and molasses.
M - Medium body that's silky with low carbonation and a soft texture.

This is a complicated brew. Some things about it are deliciously delightful and some are not.
Head - wow! Body, color, smell - wow! Taste - rich and mapley, BUT a strong SOUR kick (not welcome).
Could be a great brew if dialed in properly.

Dark brown but light shines through easily. Clear. Creamy off-white head which lasts throughout the tasting. Thick, chunky lacing.
Mocha aroma with darker semisweet chocolate and cafe americano. Light cream.
Think Baker’s chocolate on the initial taste. Quite dry. Fuller bodied with muted effervescence. The finish is more of the same. The combination is excellent.

On tap at The Good Life in Massapequa, NY...
Opaque in the glass, nearly black, with a finger of lush foam on top... Groovy brown ale, a 7% abv sipper, full of rich malts, dark breads, molasses and maple... Sweet, but not too sweet, with a bit of spice and a hint of bitterness... Creamy and well-rounded, smooth and fairly light-feeling on the palate...

Mayflower is very creative with specialty flavor beers. Like the Thanksgiving Ale, with its rich flavor, this brown ale is quite enjoyable.
Dark brown color with a 4+ F head.
Prominent flavor of maple syrup with some nuttiness which broaden with warming.
Smooth MF.
Definitely worth adding to the seasonal beer list.

16oz can served in a Mayflower pint glass. Packaged 10/12/21. Received from @WunderLlama in NBS BIF #14.
Pours clear but dark brown with a medium sized head. Smell is nutty, pumpernickel, maybe fruitcake.
Taste is nutty, toffee, dark bread, with a small but noticeable maple syrup component that works really well. Makes me think of buckwheat pancakes. Also a surprising bitterness, maybe burnt sugar. Overall leans in the sweet direction, but not too far.
Mouthfeel is light and clean. This is a very tasty and interesting beer.

Another entry for the brown ale tasting! This one is aged on maple syrup. As far as this brewery goes I've had a mixed experience so far, so I'm hoping this one will scratch the brown ale itch that this tasting event has left me with. Let's see if it can give me the fix I'm hoping for. Considering there's maple involved I have high hopes
Pours a very dark brown with 3 fingers of creamy tan head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves minimal lacing
It's unquestionably maple in the nose, but the brown ale base provides a nice light backbone for it to work over. I'm picking up on aromas of maple candy, biscuity malt, toffee, milk chocolate, light roast coffee, and a touch of vanilla
The maple remains strong in taste, though it's more focused up front and an afterthought on the swallow. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting maple syrup, milk chocolate, lightly roasted malt, and brown sugar. The swallow brings notes of milk chocolate, sticky toffee, maple candy, light raisin, and brown bread
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth beer. Finishes off dry with a balanced sweetness
This one is solid! Not at all overbearing but still full flavored. I'd get this again if it was presented as an option
