Strawberry Short Cake-less has a slightly hazy golden-yellow body and no head at all.
The aroma has a lot of fresh strawberry to it, with just hints of grain around the edges.
The flavor follows the aroma, and it really does taste a bit like a strawberry short-cake. Loads of fresh strawberry up front that is quite fruity, juicy and sweet. The malt base is definitely second to the strawberry, but it also plays into the short-cake flavor. The malt tastes a bit like a cake to start out, with lightly sweet malts, but in order to balance out the strawberry they become much more dry, with grainy flavors taking over the malt profile and lingering throughout the finish.
Medium bodied with little carbonation.
The loads of fresh strawberry added to this beer are evident in both the flavor and the aroma. If you like strawberry and don't mind fruit in your beer, this one is certainly one you should try.

Review from notes taken yesterday at the brewpub. This brew appears a slightly hazy yellow color with no head or evidence of such. The nose has a scent of fresh cereal grains and a very ripe strawberry fruitiness. The taste of this brew follows through with what the aroma indicated: flavor of semi-sweet grains coupled with a strawberry fruitiness. The body of this brew is medium to thin and is lightly carbonated. After each sip there is a lingering flavor of the grains left in the mouth.
The notes on this brew state that 42 pounds of strawberries were used in the process. This has got to be the most forward smelling and tasting strawberry flavor I have ever had in a fermented beverage. The taste and smell of strawberry is so fresh that I would have assumed there was a strawberry flavored extract used and not just natural berries.
