On tap 3.3.2010
Poured into wide bowled flute. Very orange hued and slightly hazy, head is paper white and tight.
Aroma was very bready, sugar cookie and earthy mint type of hop. Faint esters, but more sweet malt character than fruity esters by far. Picked up some marmalade and apricot. Then cooked pasty crust and pie dough.
Flavor is rich malt character, some oatmeal cookie hints, a little shortbread and some pops of cherry. The bitterness is clean and balances the big malt.
A firm body and nicely bittered, interesting take on ESB. Worth a stop while you can still get it.

On tap served in a tulip.
A:Nice amber body with a dense head on it with a finger of foam. A little touch of lacing.
S: Not like any ESB I have ever smelled. Toffee and caramel were there as well as a generous amount of hops. Little floral but mostly bittering. Nice amount of munich malt as well.
T: It was fruity. Really fruity. Really hoppy. and tons of malt. Really quite intertesting. Finished a little bitter. The more it warmed up the more the fruitiness and the malt took over. Weirdly balanced.
M: nice full creamy mouthfeel.
D: I had 2 of these with dinner. Went down super easy. I could have had another even at the ABV. Really nice.

Served in a tall tulip glass. Reddish amber body with a thin white head. Aroma has sweet malt with a slightly spicy note, but no discernible hop aroma. Flavor is unlike anything I've had before. It is at the same time sweet, bitter, and fruity, all in equal proportions. It leaves a slightly bitter aftertaste that fades into fruitiness. This is billed as a triple ESB or ESB on steroids but it bears little resemblance to any ESB I've had before. It lacks the malty backbone that an ESB here generally has. The body is fairly light, especially given the 8.1% ABV. That said, it's a pretty drinkable beer. It's not among Evans Ales best but I would drink it again.
