PBC- BiBerry

A- A reddish tinted orange/ brown with a good dose of bubbles, small flimsy head.
S- Sweet sugary fruits/ berries. I pick up a tart cherry, grape, orange, and raspberry sugary sweetness.
T- Light sugary tart fruits; grape, raspberry, orange, cherry, and maybe a blackberry/ mulberry touch.
M- Sugary sweet fruitiness, with a light crisp tart feel.

Overall- A tasty clean crisp fruity tart beer. I'm not a big fruit beer fan but this wasn't offensive. Worth a try.

No head of which to report. Just wisps. As to color, I would disagree with the previous reviewer who characterized it as "magenta". It just is not deep enough, more like a "cranberry". Should you need an interior decorator, I am available as a consultant. Nose was interesting in that 2 #s of fruit/GL were added with blackberries at a 2:1 ratio compared to their raspberry brethren and yet, raspberry was prominent on the nose. Mouthfeel was a bit thin, but the tart raspberry flavor on the tongue reminded me of my late paternal grandmother's garden with its splendiforous raspberry bush. Blackberries are a weak sister compared to what raspberries add to beverages. Turkey Hill's Raspberry Iced Tea is so tart that many eschew it. It was on the finish that I felt that I finally caught some blackberry flavor. Not bad as a novelty, but fruit beer just ain't my bag.

A-Pinkish hued, reddish copper with a thin white head that reduced to nothing and left zero lace.

S-Mixed berry bowl and light hints of biscuit and wheat malt.

T-Slightly tart mixed berries with a light base of biscuit malt. Real fruit flavour comes through nicely with no artificial taste. Nice astringent finish.

M-Light bodied and in reality almost too light. Fairly crisp with mildlingering tartness.

D-Despite being a bit thin this is a nice, tart, easy drinking fruit beer. A nice one on a hot summer Philly day....like a beer fruit breezer.

Had on-tap at Local 44

It was dark inside, but as far as I could tell, it was a reddish mahogany with a thin lacing of white foam. Most beers I've had at Local 44 usually have a pretty modest head, so I don't necessary blame that on the beer itself, just the bartenders making sure you have enough in your glass.

The beer came with a breeze of fragrant blackberries, probably one of my favorite smells, which was present in my mouth even before I held the beer up to my lips. The taste was of bready malt, mixed with sweet berries, which eventually subsided with a little bitterness and followed by the acidic berry finish. The mouth was very nice with the ample carbonation and astringency from berries. There was just enough body to complement this liveliness so that it didn't feel too light.

This was a very good beer, to have with a plate of hot fries dipped in mayo. The fruit and acid cut right through the starch and fat of the potatoes and mayo. With a modest amount of alcohol, this would be fairly sessionable depending on your feelings on blackberries

On tap at Grace Tavern, sort of a magenta with a minimal head and no lacing.

This is, I guess, what fruit beers should be? Smell was a little bit artificial and not as strong as I would have liked, but the taste and drinkability were excellent. Very light and bubbly, but with a good malt character upfront and a pleasant tart raspberry/blueberry finish, crisp and not at all syrupy like some fruit beers can be.

Had this on tap at Local 44 in Philly. Dark amber color with light white head that dissipated quickly. Smell was sweet and malty with sweet berries. Well carbonated with a lot of malt up front and then going to bitter and sweet but not overpowering berry flavor in the finish. Very easy to drink, super refreshing beer. Great for a hot summer day.
