At the brewery.
Amber color with a thick head with decent retention and leaving good laces.
Mild aroma with predominant notes of caramel and biscuit malt, but it does not feel overly sweet.
Flavor with notes of caramel malts, some citrusy, earthy and grassy hops, mild spices, lemon citrusy and yeast. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light body with appropriate carbonation.
So far, their best beer. ESB faithful to style and not blandly so.

this was the first bitter Ive ever had and it did not sit well for me. Namely, I did not enjoy it strong bitter flavor. I suppose that is what is to be expected from a "bitter" style beer, but still, I did not enjoy it. Overall I would describe it as an average beer, being too in-between styles (between a IPA and a English pale ale) for my liking.
A biased 2.5/5, tho if your a hops lover it may rank higher for you. I would never willingly drink another one.

Arrives a slightly foggy orange/amber color. Small, light tan head with only a few minutes retention, leaving a faint film and ring. Decent lace remains.
Smell is a good balance of hops and malt with hints of citrus and brew.
Taste is mostly malt and hops coming across like a pale ale.
Tangy effervescence up front, drying middle, dry/clean finish. A good sessionable beer.

On-tap at the brewpub. Appeared a hazy light brown with a short head. The hops are certainly stronger than usual in this beer, but the brewer has kept them in check to make this beer properly balanced. The main malt flavor is absolute dry biscuit. You could almost butter and eat it. The hops are a grassy mixture with citrus rind and pepper. This is an interesting tale the style and not too bad. Worth trying.

Enjoyed on-tap at the brewpub. British Fuggle hop, well malted, even some sugar.Abov average mouthfeel. Lacey. The bitterness is fine,a little orangey, but its a bit astringent on the mouthfeel, like licking the hop leaf. Today I did not find this too drinkable.

Amber color. Nice looking lace. Non-descript aroma but a hint of salt water is noticed. There is some really nice up front maltiness with an extremely smooth silkiness in the mouthfeel. There is also some cedar-like woodiness with hints of fruit, finishes clean. This is fairly low on the abv and extremly drinkable. Almost perfect for the style.
