12oz can poured into stemless glass. Vintage 2018.
Appearance: Dark midnight black body. 2 fingers tall dark brown cap that recedes to a ring of head around the glass. Nice legs noted after each sip.
Smell: Roast malt, chocolate, oak and big bourbon. Big & intense aromas.
Taste: Gourmet dark chocolates & roasty malts. Dry oak barrel with big char notes & light meaty smoke. Leather, tobacco, and molasses. Vanilla and caramel tones interweaving throughout each sip. Lightly bitter bakers cocoa finish that lingers with dry oak & bourbon for a long time after each sip.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer with low carbonation. Silky and chewy texture without being motor oil. Light warming alcohol presence. Very smooth & mellow sipper.
Overall: Barrel aged dark secret plus heaven hill barrels is an immediate hit. If the old school 12oz bottles of bourbon county had a "dark chocolate variant" this is what it would taste like. BrickStone knows great barrel aged stouts.

2018 vintage tasted in a snifter from draft at Whole Foods Market on March 29, 2019. Look is dark brown with a thick tan head. Smell and taste is bourbon and oak. Feel is full in body.
