Orion is the beer formally known as "Nebula", is a Belgian-Style dark IPA. The focus is not only on the yeast used during the brewing process, but also on the hops and dark grains. The yeast imparts a fruity and spicy flavor/aroma to the beer, followed by a sharp bite from the hops, then late in the finish you enjoy the flavor of the dark grains. Our version has no added fruit or spice.

A-Deep red, almost brown until it is held up to the light.

S-Raisins and dark fruits.

T-Dark fruits to start, some alcohol. Ends with some bitterness. The alcohol does not really fit.

M-Medium bodied

O-I am still getting into Belgian style beers, however this one did not seem all together. Similar to the Ithaca 12 I had previously. However SN Ovila was great. I guess I wish the alcohol was masked. Or maybe I'm confusing the alcohol with a flavor that is suppose to be there.

The beer pours a nice amber color with a thick frothy off-white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is decent. It has sweet crystal malt scent along with a light Belgian yeast aroma. It's basically an amber ale fermented with Belgian yeast. The taste is decent as well. It has a dry, caramel flavor with limited Belgian yeast character. There is a mild fruitiness, but nothing too intense. It goes down easy with some sweet crystal malts up front and finishes dry with some spice yeast esters. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a pretty ordinary "Belgian" style ale. Don't get me wrong, I could drink the hell out of this beer, but as far Belgian beers go, it's uninspired. That said, most will like this highly approachable, highly quaffable brew. What up Horseheads!
