Dial in those digits and tune in to this Russian Imperial Stout. Smooth talking, dark, and decadent-Imperialism goes digital. Aromas of roasted coffee and chocolate on the nose. With hints of pit fruits, chewy toffee, coffee, and dark chocolate on the palate. Finished late with American hops for a dash of bitterness. From the 12 oz can in a snifter via Bluejacket74 which is DEEPLY
APPRECIATED! This fine imperial pours a rich blackish brown
with a thin cola highlight and a nice head of light tan foam that subsides
to a thin ring, thin dusty layer, and displays some nice light lacing.
Nose of dark bakers chocolate, dark coffee, booze, char, and
dark fruit notes. Flavors expand on the nose with dark
cocoa and chocolate syrup blended with a strong cup of
coffee and given a moderate dose of dark cherry and toffee
notes that also feature anise and boozy elements. Nice mouth
feel---full body, smooth, coating, slick, and finishing subtly dry
and nicely warming.
I had this on tap and mentioned it to Bluejacket74 who found it
I believe at the brewery. A very welcome stout from a great BA
and a great brewery! One of my favorite stouts of the year thus
far.
Cheers

Solid black ,medium light carbonation with just above average body with a slight creamy oily feel
Aroma is alcohol, earthy, peat, dark roasted coffee, roasted malt, and bitter cocoa
Roasted oily coffee beans and malt. Bitter dark chocolate, turns to earthy, burnt wood, alcohol
The high abv is somewhat well hidden, far from one dimensional flavor.

I tried this at the Daily Growler in Powell, OH. Poured an opaque dark with thin head that did not leave much lace. The scent had hints of earth and roast. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with roast and peat presence. The mouthefeel was lighter in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it was a good beer.

Canned on 1/24/19. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black with a light khaki head that fades quickly leaving decent retention and lacing. The aromas have a nice amount of chocolate leading the way. Hints of caramel. Mild hints of vanilla. Dark fruits are there. Malts are there. The flavors basically follow the nose for the most part. More chocolate leading the way. Both milk chocolate and dark chocolate with the dark chocolate having a stronger presence. More caramel along with some hints of toffee. More dark fruits coming through. Some coffee notes are noticeable. Mild hints of anise. Some spices. This one is on the bitter side. Malts do their thing. Alcohol is noticeable. It finishes warm, almost hot, but it's not completely over the top. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's thin and sharp. This one makes for a nice sipper.
This is a nice Russian Imperial Stout. Nice aromas and flavors. It's a big beer that drinks big. It's enjoyable and fun to drink. Not bad at all.

12 ounce can into snifter, canned on 1/24/2019. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, toffee, raisin, plum, prune, cherry, fig, date, licorice, toasted biscuit, roasted nuts, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, wood, herbal, peppercorn, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/black/bready malts and moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, toffee, raisin, plum, prune, cherry, fig, date, licorice, toasted biscuit, roasted nuts, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, wood, herbal, peppercorn, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, woody, peppery hops; and roast/charred bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, toffee, raisin, plum, prune, cherry, fig, date, licorice, toasted biscuit, roasted nuts, dark bread/crust, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, wood, herbal, peppercorn, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/black/bready malts and moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and fairly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 14% after the finish. Overall this is an awesome Russian imperial stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/black/bready malts and moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV, with the modestly bitter/charred/drying finish. Not overly bitter/charred for the style. Awesome balance of rich English malts, fruity English yeast, and earthy hops. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on style example.

12 ounce can, canned on 01/24/19. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head that stuck around a while. There's also a small amount of lacing. The brew smells like burnt/charred malt, bittersweet chocolate, coffee, toffee and some licorice. Taste is similar to the aroma, with dark chocolate, dark fruit, coffee, toffee, molasses, burnt/charred malt, licorice, caramel and earthy flavors. A little bit boozy but not too bad for being 14%. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit slick with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good imperial stout, I'll have to get some more to see how this one ages! Thanks to my buddy Denis for this brew.

12oz canned 1/24/19 (40 days ago) poured into a Spiegelau stout glass at fridge temp 14% ABV. The beer pours dense black with no light penetration and mocha colored head. The head recedes slowly to a cap and leaves a wall of lacing. The aroma is cocoa, toffee and hints of dark fruit. The taste is slightly charred, roasted malt and an offensive level of ethanol. The bitterness is fairly low for the style, but any sweetness is obliterated by the alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, adequately carbonated and mostly dry in the finish. Overall, not good. I recommend leaving this one in the back of the fridge for about two years.
