After my experience with many "innovative" BrewDog offerings, I had the feeling this was going to be pretty bad. Thanks to dschuster03 for the share on this rarity.
A - Amber colored beer with a white head that left some not a whole lot on the glass.
S - Smells way too much like Sharpie permanent marker. Pretty bad. It's also overly peaty, the Islay Scotch just kind of killed this one. Starting with a DIPA as a base beer wasn't a good move, just not a big enough beer for the massive amount of Scotch here. There is some raspberry smell, but it's raspberries that should have been thrown out a little while ago.
T - Taste is a lot like the nose. Permanent marker, lots of peat, some raspberry mush. None of this is good.
M - Lighter side of medium bodied with a decent bit of carbonation.
O - I understand this was a prototype. As it was a wreck, BrewDog should have learned not to go this route. Unfortunately, they went and made Zephyr, another really rare barrel aged beer with some fruit in it. Unfortunately doing the same thing produced the same results. This sucked, and so did Zephyr. Pass.

Big thanks to dschuster03 for sharing this super-rare Brewdog offering. It's their Hardcore IPA aged in a Caol Ila cask with 50lbs of Scottish raspberries. Served in a Russian River tulip.
A - A finger of white foam settles to a thick collar and wispy cap, leaving minimal lacework. Hazed amber body.
S - Black licorice, permanent marker, peat, Scotch whisky, some overripe raspberries in the periphery. I don't think the base IPA is doing much here at all - they probably could have started with any beer.
T - Peat, smoke, burnt cardboard, char, and a hint of raspberry. Somewhat medicinal. It delivers what it promises, but I'm not sure if that's a positive.
M - Medium-light body, zesty carbonation, and a very oaky, dry, tannic texture. Seems thinned out by the barrel-aging, but otherwise it's not bad.
D - This reminds me of Zephyr, and that's not a good thing. If I wanted to drink Islay scotch I would just do that, rather than procure extremely limited releases beers like this one. Appreciate the opportunity Dave, but it'd be a serious challenge to put down more than a few ounces of this beer.

i had a 1oz pour from the NBT guys.
take this review for what its worth, but there weren't many reviews, so i figure a review of a 1oz pour is better than nothing.
this beer in general was kind of a mess. the smoke reminded me of like a peaty scotch, but not really in a way that i liked (and i am a huge ardbeg lover). it was weird.. it had like cranberries or some type of berries on the taste, but the smoke really took most of the characteristics out of it. masked a lot of the flavor.
drinkability was ok, but honestly it really tasted too strange for me to really enjoy it or be able to really want to drink a lot of it.
mouthfeel was fine.

White label with Sharpie markered 'Prototype 27' on the bottle. only one barrel of this one was ever made.
Pours golden brown red with a nice one finger head with good retention and hardly any lacing...looks inviting.
Nose is nothing short of incredible, like nothing i've ever smelled. peaty, smokey, woody malt whiskey up front with caramel and a bit fusel alcohol, along with fresh berries, and yeah, more peat.
Taste is very geared: starts out with oaky smokey peat and vanilla at first, then moves onto an unmistakable tart raspberry character, then finishes with juicy hop bitterness finishing warm and clean with a lingering smoke after the sip is done...so unique.
Mouthfeel is light and smooth, a bit viscous at the end...very nice.
Drinkability is quite high, the sourness of the raspberries balances the sweetness of beer as well as complimenting the bitter hop character - extremely intense but surprisingly drinkable.
This is simply an incredible beer, like nothing i've ever had, it cuts the line between belgian IPA wild yeasty tasting beers, fruit beers and the good 'ol Brewdog Hardcore IPA it was made from.
A real treat, big ups to Ned at the Portcullis Clifton Village for saving me this bottle!
