Brewers notes: The eagle has landed. When you’re looking to let the good times roll, Wingman has your back. A maverick of a Session IPA, this is a smooth ride of mellow tropical fruits, piney notes and a sharp citrus aroma. Refreshing, infinitely drinkable and with a steady boozing altitude of 4.3%, you’ll want to keep Wingman by your side all night long. Prepare ground control. Refreshment incoming.

Copenhagen 26/2 2024. 50 cl can from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Yellow can with a drawing of a very blue Eagle wearing a pilots outfit.
Pours almost clear yellow with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet, malty odor mingling with a bit of fruit. Citric notes. Sweet pale malts, bread and grains. Whiff of sweet ripe peach. Citrus and lemon.
Strong carbonation. Thin, oily, lively and tingling texture. A bit fizzy.
Flavor is medium intense with a light sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a bit. Finish is dry.
Refreshing - but not much more.

440ml can from Sainsbury's. Pale golden pour, small foamy head fades away quickly. Weak malty, biscuity aroma, faint fruity notes. Taste continues with the pale malts edging out any hops for the primary flavor. Almost tastes like a pale lager. Nowhere near as good as the Tropical Storm.

A summer refresher that worked pretty well with Lebanese food. (I'm thinking the citric aroma worked with the aromatic spicing of the Lebanese kitchen and the hops cut through the oils.) Wingman Looks pretty inviting and its citrus has nose-allure. Tastes are balanced, though not enough malt creates a light-mouth.
Some people like BrewDog ; others hate 'em. I've got no dog in that fight and I'm glad to find a new kitchen that goes with a mild AIPA.

440ml can.
L: Clear, honeyed gold with one finger of cream head that has decent retention.
S: Orange and melon.
T: Follows the nose. Not juicy or resinous but is a decent citrus APA flavour.
F: Medium body with some mouth coating. Finish is dry and just a tad thin.
O: Perfectly acceptable low ABV bbq beer… which is how I last drank it (maybe 6x330ml cans over a few hours with no trouble at all).
