Dirty orange pour and appearance in the glass; cloudy; thick, off-white head, long-lasting with a dense texture. Malt-forward nose with a touch of fruit; caramel with a delicate presence of oranges. Strong and phenol bitterness dominates the taste; very little malt character. Medium-heavy body; fizzy with an astringent aftertaste.
Would love to have loved this beer, but the taste and mouthfeel just aren't there for me.
ABV: 8%; pouring temperature: 41.4 ℉; bottling info: BOT: 18SEP25 BBD: 18SEP27

330ml bottle from Wee Beer Shop, Shawlands (£4.80):
Chestnut amber with a 1cm, foamy head that's creamy white with a few bubbles on top. Quite a hoppy nose with a bit of spice, some orange peel then an aggressive bitterness to the taste with yeast, spice & some light caramel & lively carbonation but just a touch too bitter for me.

L- Mid chestnut-brown, pours with wildly eager head; 4cm of dense cream coloured foam (ps. holds very well). It is bottle conditioned - suggest it's poured slowly...
S- Just a touch of bright hops for me.
T- Hops is the boldest aspect here, I also get a minor fruity note - orange? Hops linger on the palate into the finish.
F- Perhaps one of the hoppier and less rich 'Xmas beers' I've had in a while, but it comes together very nicely.
O- Very nice, something different from an Xmas beer. Arguably with the bold hops it's quite contemporary in formulation.
Rated/reviewed. Now to check the bottle for additional clues:
Bot: 7/10/24 BB: 07/10/26 'Contains: Malted barley, fermentable sugar, unfiltered, bottle refermented.
