I picked this up from a small bottle shop in Brussels. One of the owners of the shop was raving about this brewery and especially recommended this one, as it's part of a annual series.
The brew is very much alive and kicking! It starts foaming upon contact with my glass. I continued to pour this bottle very very carefully as the thick white foam eventually gives way to a hazy, pale gold colored brew. Strong, grassy notes with a little bit of wheat behind it. It smells and looks very light. Judging by the smell I was thinking more Saison than witbier, but the wit aspects become very clear upon the first few sips. It's really crisp. Mellow notes of lemon rind, bigger notes of wheat. I'm finding some notes of coriander and perhaps a little pepper. Definitely some bitter notes at the end that get a little extra pick me up from some faint citrus notes.
Overall a pleasant, light beer that I would actually love to pair with some white fish or something delicate along those lines. While this beer wasn't entirely my thing, I still enjoyed picking it apart.
