This is a brown ale finished with the local mead. I picked up this 33cl bottle at the brewery 4 months ago.
Pours a nice head, quickly dissipates. The cloudiness clearly marks this as a nonfiltered beer. Chestnut color.
The aroma is quite fruity, and reminds me unpleasantly of sour homebrew. Upfront the taste is all malt, very rich with lots of sweetness. Later there is a twist with the taste of mead, more fruity. Very nice balance, with none of the sourness that I expected. Hop bitterness is low, but perceptible. The complexity of the taste keeps me coming back. It's unusual, but lovely. The body is medium, and the light carbonation pleasant.
If you can find it, I'd recommend this beer.

For a bottle conditioned beer, this is quite clear. It is dark and ruby in color.
Light chocolate aroma, nutty; strong unmalted barley smells with slightly burned sugar.
The flavor profile features some caramel and a touch of black patent malt makes this a very interesting beer. Light hop provides some balance but this is mostly malt. This is more carbonated than the Biere Blonde de Tradition.
This has elements of a porter, but it remains relatively light.
