Poured a deep copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured sweet earthy malts and a bit of smoke.
The taste likewise consisted of sweet earthy malts, and a secondary grassy hop. A bit lacking as far as complexity.
The mouthfeel was typical of the style.
Overall a pretty good Scotch ale. A bit more depth in the malt would have really improved this one.
