Tasted this beer at the brewery awhile ago. Thought it was good then.

Malty, caramel buttery goodness, with just enough hops to balance.
Probably not enough IBUs for the hopheads or APA lovers, but a very sessionable bitter nonetheless. I could quite easily spend the afternoon/evening pondering over a pint or two of this.
Thoroughly recommended.

A - Poured into a mug a slightly hazy dark golden colour with a couple of centimetres of white head that falls away quite quickly.
S - Smell is sweet toffee & honeycomb malt at first, followed by some light fruity notes & a buttery touch.
T - Toffee & honeycomb maltiness up front and some fruity esters. The buttery touch from the smell is also a lot more dominate in the taste.
M - Medium bodied, minimal carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Toffee sweet finish. Not enough bitterness for a Special Bitter.
D - Not horrible but a bit too sweet for my liking.

A: orange amber...clear, poured no head...none! A little very thin foam ring is all. Only a touch of carbonation. By midway through the glass it looked just like a dark apple juice in clolour & carbonation (very average).
S: Sweet malts, honey...a fraction of grassy hops.
T: very sweet, caramel & honey. Definately honey sweet biased over any fruits or floral. Reminds me of a typical sweet English Ale. Not much bitterness at all...surprised me.
M: mid palate thickness, not enough carbonation, feels a little flat...
D: it needed to be a little more alive, very syrupy & flat. Try as I might, I just couldn't get even a hairline width head.
It seemed to be pointing in the right direction, had that english feel about it, expecially the aroma & with the sweet taste, but just missed the mark with mouthfeel, look & hence drinkability...
Reckon this is one to try on tap (old english handpump even more)

Hardly any carbination & little to no head.very little laceing.

Smell reminicant to a stout and a touch bitter to the nose.

A full bodied malt with mild bitter aftertaste a slight watery taste to me. very mild oin the mouth, nearly all after taste. (must be the fish protein)

Better on a hot day. It is a beer I could drink again but I think I would try their other styles first.

Pours with a nice soft and sense looking head , the dark amber lightly carbonated and slightly cloudt Ale looks ok.
It is ,as claimed to be ,a full bodied malt yielding to a light bitter finish.
And therin lays it problem for me. It lacks a bit of bite or fruitiness to lift the malts off the palate and leave the palate enticed.
It is a pleasant drinking Ale and easily drunk for that.
The Fuggles hops , for me were hard to discern.
Worth a trip to the brewery for me but only just
