Pours crystal clear (I can read through it), Golden orange to Halloween orange, depending on the background, with a solid 2 finger white head from a rather hard pour. Light lacing.
Fruity and herbal on the aroma with light caramel malt. A bit of over ripe citrus and grass. Very pleasing.
Leans more toward the mainstream in the taste. Somewhat nondescript, Borderline harsh bitterness which the caramel malt can't quite match. The harsh bitter aspect seems to moderate in the second glass, and I'm getting some really nice caramel notes and tart rye.
Medium bodied with pretty good carbonation, not quite to the point of froth. Light syrup.
This beer grew on me. Definitely a step or two up from the macros. It balanced out on the second glass, and was even better on the third. I knocked my taste rating up a notch. The sweet caramel "made it" for me, improving in both taste and aroma as I drank.
