Pours black in color with a thick, milk chocolate colored head that clings nicely to the sides of the glass. Smell is chocolate, malts, hint of scotch whisky, and a little dark fruit. Taste is chocolate, dark fruit, smoke, notes of scotch which become stronger towards the finish. Finish lingers as smokey, peat goodness. Creamy, medium heavy body. Overall, very, very nice. The scotch barrels don't overwhelm the base beer, instead adding a nice complimentary flavor.
