Brewed in collaboration with Monticello to celebrate the history of brewing in Virginia, this special new ale features flavorful hints of honey from Monticello’s own Tufton Farm. Lightly hopped and a brilliant copper hue, Monticello Mountain Ale might be the smoothest beer we’ve ever brewed.

Had on tap at the brewery in a pint glass.

Appearance: Pale copper and opaque. My fingers are just visible though the glass. Minimal head that dissipates quickly.

Smell: Nothing much more than the sweet smell of honey.

Taste: Leads with the distinct flavor of honey. Then comes the malt. Biscuits, oyster crackers, cinnamon butter. A decent hops bite in the finish, citrus, Mandarin orange, tempering the heavy sweetness.

Mouthfeel: Thinner feel, tea-like. Goes down smooth.

Overall: Simple summertime ale, very refreshing in the hot sun.
