This fresh hop beast is hopped out with Cascade, Centennial, Simcoe, Mosaic, and Amarillo hops to balance beautiful citrus notes, a dank fresh Strata hop addition, and a clean malt bitterness.

Had beer on tap at the Vancouver location, nice fresh hop taste with citrus notes. Not too bitter considering the IBU's have to be quite high, though it doesn't taste over about 70. Small head that goes away quickly. Rated 9-17-2020

On tap at the source. Fresh upon fresh!

Ahhh, fresh hop goodness. The nose gives some of the green stuff up. The sip follows, with a drying finish. A little chew to this, and some heft.

Look: Nice-looking medium to dark orange and my pour brings on a lively head that builds and quickly settles to a film, leaving good lacing behind
Aroma: Sharp white grapefruit, oranges, lemon, wafts of dank, and some bready malt
Taste: Tons of raw and pithy citrus starts this off with a bang as layers of orange, grapefruit, and lemon-lime expand. Slickness and bitter alpha acids come and go throughout atop a bready malt and closes with a bite
Mouthfeel: Full, slick, medium carbonation, and dry on the finish
Overall: I dig it. This is a pretty good fresh hop Imperial IPA with what definitely is Strata but to me, I didn’t get a lot of fresh hop character in it and also was disappointed by the lack of a good to strong Cannabis note in either the nose nor the taste as it’s one of my favorite aspects of that hop variety. Glad I tried it but wouldn’t revisit

16oz can served in a snulip. Dated 14 sep 2021. Bought it at Ridgewood Bottle & Tap two days ago.

Pours a clear, dark golden color with a moderate head. Smell is light grainy sweetness and deep hoppy bitterness.

Taste is much more interesting than the aroma. I get a lot of honey sweetness, and a delicate floral note. Bitterness is there, lingering in the background at the beginning, deepening as it lingers. Booziness is there if I look for it, which is kind of impressive.

Mouthfeel is medium tending toward heavy, maybe slightly sticky. Overall, this is probably one of the most successful fresh hop imperial IPAs I've had.

these guys are approaching fremont status for prolific wet hop brewers, i have seen at least three from them this year already. i think i dont love regular ace of spades, kind of malty and exposed on the alcohol side in my experience, but the fresh hops definitely bring it to a better place in this cool version, still maltier than is trendy these days, and not as obviously fresh hopped as some of their others, but delicious and satisfying nevertheless. i think the alcohol still is strong in here, and i am surprised to learn the fresh hop is strata, its nuance doesnt really come through the other hops in here, higher alpha, piney and bitter, more than the fresh can overcome, but its bold and intense, more bitter than a lot of the fresh hop ones ever are, and i appreciate the pungency even if its a little less refined than the best of them. kind of a bruiser rather than a fancy pants, which i guess the packaging sort of suggests, but i liked their singing bird significantly more, even if its not apples to apples. good carbonation, long finish, hot aftertaste, clean ferment, definitely a little old school still, tasty but not a standout of the wet hop season for me thus far...

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Deep, clear golden, one finger fluffy head. Aroma is old school NW hops. Taste even moreso, the fresh hops bursting onto the palate, stinging, earthy, resinous. All about the hops. A nice flashback.

16oz can (dated 9/2/20) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a very cloudy, nearly opaque, orange color with over an inch of white head that had decent retention and very light lacing.

Nice pine and citrus aromas in the nose, with just a hint of grain.

Same on the tongue, just a bit brighter, and a touch of bitterness on the back.

The body was light-medium, and had a dry finish.

Drinkability was good, probably wouldn't have 2 in a row, but would drink again.

Overall, nicely solid brew. Worth trying if you see it.

16oz can (canned 9/2/2020) into a tulip. Pours a clear orange golden color with a nice frothy white head that leaves behind patchy lacing. Lazy carbonation rises from the bottome of the glass.

Aroma is faint tropical hops, really pretty mild.

Taste is a nice balance of pale neutral malt and a blend of hops. Citrusy and tropical with a decidedly bitter finish. Classic West Coast IPA.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and satisfying, about right for an imperial IPA.

Overall a pretty standard IPA, I can't say that the fresh hops stand out here but I'm always up for a well crafted traditional American IPA.
