Had this beer at EVO in Charleston as a limited release. Coast describes it as their HopArt "fermented it in a 9 gallon firkin, with lightly toasted American Oak and Cascade hops."
A. Very nice and what you would expect from a cask beer. Hazy yellow liquid with suspended yeast very visible. Moderate white head with minimal lacing.
S. The hops predominate as in the regular HopArt, but there is a hint of oak.
T. Now this is what I like in an oaked beer. The oak is apparent without overwhelming the entire beer. Cascade hops and balanced malt.
M. As expected from a cask beer, minimal carbonation, but still with a clean finish.
D. Very drinkable, a little high abv to session, but goes down well.
Another great beer from Coast. I have to commend them for being willing to experiment and bring this unique beers to us here in Charleston.
