Lively downtown lunch crowd on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. Corner location with openings on two side, covered walkway, and sidewalk patio is expansive and airy. Long bar runs against the right wall, opposite the glass encased brewhouse. I was just there picking up takeout, and was a bit surprised at how pre-covid the place felt. Service was friendly, but they screwed up my phone order... annoying. I got a growler of Four Schwartzmen, and it was excellent; the chicken quesadillas were nothing special.

Cool industrial feel. A little loud. Have to yell to hear each other on a Thursday afternoon. Friend and I both had 3 beers each and food. Food was OK. Not bad but can't say great. The beers were the center point of our visit.

Good solid place in the Heart of Chandler... I thought the food was awesome... Great place to grab a beer and a burger and look out onto the plaza... Service was good even on a busy evening... I'd defiantly hit this place up again...

I got a hole in the wall table for 1 person, so altogether the vibe was pretty poor for me. I can see it being a lively place for social drinkers, but I'm a beer poet and need my introspection. I was right by the kitchen, so I saw a lot of food coming out and it looked and smelled scrumptious, will definitely go back for the food and give a more accurate rating. I drank SunSpot Gold and Sex Panther. Service was slow, but it was very busy. Waitress was cute. Not a broad selection of draft admittedly. Quality was a solid 4, I love their beer. Will have to go back for certain.

2pm on a Sunday. Place was packed, about a 10 minute wait for a table. Burgers, onion rings, fries, fish n chips, and short rib tacos were great. Service was good. Beers are decent but not to the 4/5 rating, imo. Noisy as hell/lively, but, food was worth the stop, to me.

San Tan is one of my home town favorites. The vibe is always fun, great music, outdoor sitting areas, and always fun crowds. They have live music nights and other activities. The beer is excellent, San Tan also cans so all their beer is available at the store (Outside Special Items only at Brewery). The food is awesome, staff is very nice. If your looking to have a fun day out San Tan is worth the stop.

A cool place to have beers in a heat desert. The selection was average but the beers quenched the thirst. I am glad I made the stop to rehydrate in this part of the desert.

Great spot with a bunch of beers on tap. Lots of different styles available. They tout their beers as "southwestern style" or something if that nature. I took this to mean a bit on the watery side. Not bad, just everything I tasted was a bit lacking in lingering flavor. Didn't eat, but the food looked awesome. Servers and staff were nice and attentive.

This is one of the places that got me in to brew pubs. They have great beer and amazing food. The menu changes regularly and they have delicious specials, guest beers, special brewery only beers etc... They are definitely worth checking out.

Stopped in here just after lunch. Nice big space with tables down the middle, bar on the right and brewery on the left and back of the room. Atmosphere was hopping even for an early afternoon. People sitting all over the place, inside and out. Service was quite good. I never had to wait for a beer and my server made plenty of small talk with me to pass the down time. Quality was solid across the board. Food was quite good, beers were diverse and in the correct glasses. Selection was just ok. Only seven beers on at the time of my visit, while a good verity they were just ok. I got the pub pretzels since I didn't want anything big and they were really good and hit the spot well. Prices were on par with all of the other places I have visited in the last few days. Overall a decent enough brewpub that I would probably return to if I had some extra time in the area.

Santan has come into its own. Their new beer and special releases are setting a new pace for the brewery. Since they opened the production facility they have space to dabble in new styles and have been consistently great. I used to settle on going to santan but I know look forward to it. Their flagship line is solid. Their food is way above normal pub fare.

Last time we were in Phoenix we stopped in and had dinner. Our son had recommended Santan to us. This brewery is a sports bar and that is my biggest complaint about it. The TVs were so loud you really couldn't talk at all. It was very annoying not to be able to get away from the horrible noise. I mean really uncomfortable noise. Otherwise the service was excellent and the food was very good. I had fish and chips which I would order again if I can talk myself into going back there and have ear plugs with me. My husband had the Ribeye smoked dip wrap and loved it. Their beer selection was a little above average. I have been to many sports bars and have never been in one that was as noisy as this one. It really isn't necessary for the TVs to be so loud. Maybe out on the patio it would have been better but it was a cold night so inside seating was necessary.

Stopped here last Thursday night before picking up family at the Gateway Airport.

Atmosphere was good, very crowded on a early Thursday evening as we were able to get seated within 5 minutes because of our reservation. A patio is available along the perimeter of the building and all tables were occupied due to the lovely October temps. Indoors was loud with the buzz from the full house and the NFL football game. They also had the MLB playoff game on. I never made it up to the bar but it was of decent size in which occupants looked out onto the patio and street. The restaurant side is long and narrow with seating for maybe 150?

Quality of the beers we had was good. I was pleasantly surprised at how smackable the Belgian IPA was. The Negro Nitro was pretty good too. As usual Da Boss sticks with lower hopped brews in which Epicenter filled the bill.

Despite how crowded it was the service was outstanding as the ordering process was timely, consistent, and friendly. I took a couple of growlers in which one is ceramic and without the government label. The shift manager came over and told me he could not fill it in which i promptly presented a typewritten version in which he affixed for me...he must have thought i was an undercover Arizona DLLC agent! Kudos to him for being on top of things!

Selection of beers was decent as i believe they only carry house beers but i maybe wrong...but nonetheless they have a pretty good range of beers for all pallets.

The food was good. Da Boss had the fish tacos and i had the fish and chips. Both were well prepared and tasty.

Overall value was reasonable. We had 5 pints, 2 entrees, and filled 2 growlers for $76...not bad at all! Although SanTan is on the "other side of the world" as we live in north Phoenix, i would definitely go here again if i have reason to be on this side of the Valley of the Sun.

This is the closest brew pub to our house about 2 miles away so I wanted to try it to taste one of their seasonal beers. My wife and I went in the afternoon to catch the end of the Georgia South Carolina football game. The waitress was very helpful. I ordered a interesting nitrogenized version of their normal Devil's ale and she suggested I get a taster of the normal version so I could compare. Also, they were nice about letting us take up two small two person tables so we could watch the game both sitting on the same side.

Beer was hoppy. The one with nitrogen was smoother with less of a bite from the hops. Nice glasses, nice atmosphere. I like the idea of going to a local brew pub to take part in the craft beer movement. I like being able to try their seasonal varieties on tap.

I remember when this place first opened. It is a good place to get wings (they are the best) and get a great beer in Chandler and the beer selection is fantastic (the IPA has a bold Citrus taste). The service is better than you would expect and the prices are very good.

I have been to San Tan Brewery several times. I've brought "C" here before and now she comes here once a week. Sometimes the servers see me and make a trip out of their area to say hello. I guess it's one of my hangouts so it's probably time to write a review.

San Tan Brewery is located in Historic Chandler. Just north of it is the San Marcos resort. The couple of blocks around it is probably the only area worth seeing in Historic Chandler and the building itself used to be a bank. There is plenty of parking in front of it either way and in the back. The parking is lit and it is a regular parking lot in the back. There is a patio area in the front and on the north side of the building. Metal tables for two or four are available and misters are going to help cool the temperature down. You can bring your well-behaved pooch there. Inside you will find a couple of historic pictures when it was a bank, the vault, and seats on top of what were the safety deposit boxes. There are high and low tables for two of four and seats at the bar.

There were eight house beers, three guest beers, a guest hard cider, a full bar, and cocktails were included in the happy hour specials as were some appetizers. This place is usually hopping but I was able to get a table of my choice inside without a wait. I had some wings in pineapple habanero barbeque sauce (which is made there) and a Devil's Ale, one of my favorite beers on tap, before my friend from work arrived. The wings were delicious, plump, juicy, and really perfect. Later, we had a couple of Hefeweizens and the chip trio. the beers were really good and guacamole and the pico de gallo was very good. The cheese sauce was basically a Velveeta cheese sauce. There was hardly enough chips and the refill was $1.50. When we left, the place was busy and noisy.

Our server was fast and friendly. Anything we wanted: more napkins or beer or the check was fast and delivered with a smile. A couple of servers came over to say hello from their areas and this gets a "perfect" for service in my book.

I have to recommend San Tan Brewery. It gets crowded especially on Friday and Saturday nights when the wait time can be really long especially if you don't want to sit outside. Even with the misters it's just too hot outside for me to be relaxed. It is AZ, after all. I think it's a great place whether you coming from work, meeting friends, on a date, or just someplace where everybody can agree on for good food and drinks. Parking is not a problem.

There are a couple of things that I don't like about San Tan: they don't have little things they should have like wet napkins with an order of chicken wings, the chips with the chip trio are not even enough and the charge for more is $1.50 (if you get the pretzels and want more mustard there is a charge, also), and the pints are short - about two oz. short. "C" mentioned this to me the other day when we met at Four Peaks Brewery. So far, San Tan is the only place I've been to that does this and they do it regularly. I hope it's not catchy. It is for these reasons that I gave the "value" $$$. It's like getting a six-pack of bottles and finding out they are 330ml (11.3 oz.) bottles and not the 12 oz. bottles but worse.

A very nice brewpub and a nice selection of beers. The food was pretty good and the service was OK. I felt it could have been a bit better, but in their defense it was pretty packed. That said, the manager, Tom, did take time out of his busy schedule to talk with us and other patrons. He was very friendly and didn't seem to mind all my questions :)

All of their beers are clean and quality made. My personal preference is for a bit more maltiness, but that isn't everyone's preference. Their beers are available at a number of restaurants and bars around town. They are also available in the local grocery stores in a variety pack of cans.

Somewhat small for how many handles they have but a cool vibe that can fill up quickly and spill out to the patio (which is not a bad place to chill). Didn't touch the guest, don't have to, the brewery pumps out some nice crafties. The food is great and the staff is friendly, one of the top breweries in AZ.

Its been a while since I've been, but going to SanTan was a more memorable part of my trip to AZ. I believe they will benefit from their new expansion with gained ability to experiment a bit more. The food was great and so was the service. I hope they stick to their own thing and make room for themselves. I truly wish more craft beers would get into canning these days (as they are easier to travel with and get onto golf courses). Staff explained very well the benefits of doing so. Decent beers, but nothing too exceptional.

Been here a number of times and once again to visit friends in Chandler last week. Solid beer and food. I had the negro nitron and a seasonal wheat with pineapple-like flavors. Both great and I wished I had more time to enjoy the full beer list. It was hot but they have misters pumping hard on the patio surrounding the building to keep you reasonably cool. Worth a visit if you are in the area. It's a rather large place that looks to have been a bank in the past due to the huge vault in one corner. Great atmosphere and a good restaurant as well.

I have been to San Tan Brewpub six times over the past five months, with the most recent visit being in May of 2012, It has been crowded each time I have visited and it is obvious the good people of Chandler value this fine establishment. From the atmosphere, which is a no nonsense neighborhood environment, to the quality of the on tap beer selections, within which are several of the better brews I have found anywhere, I am a continuing and loyal customer when I am able to visit Chandler, which is often.

The continuing but infrequent offerings of cask conditioned ales and specialty beers are a real treat. The food is excellent quality but a bit pricey. The beer I most enjoy at San Tan is the Hop Shock IPA. It is simply one of the best IPA's I have had the pleasure to quaff.

I previously had an extremely bad experience at San Tan, and swore that I would never go back. However, after talking to a manager at one of the local beer tastings, she swore that they had fixed everything. So we recently went again, mainly to have some of the pineapple hefe. This time it wasn't too bad. Our server was not very attentive, but the food was good and everything came out correctly and very quickly. I am glad that I gave them a second chance, and I will more than likely go there again. I think that the food is little on the pricey side, but overall it was a decent.

Went there last weekend on Sunday while I was there for a family wedding. The only local brewery I got to visit, because it was relatively close to the hotel.

Atmosphere was nice. In terms of scale and quality, the location reminds of Silver City in Silverdale, WA. Kinda hip, functional location with prominent brewing facilities.

Quality of both the food and the beer was good. Service was not. They took a bit to take our order, took longer to deliver it, and never gave us little details like napkins or silverware. I had to go and find it and say, "Hey, can I have that?"

Selection was good. Menu is large and varied, and they have a nice selection of styles on tap. I was disappointed their black IPA nitro was out when I was there.

Food was good. There were five of us, and everything we ordered was different, and all of it was well prepared and tasty. Prices seemed more than reasonable. I think beers were only $3.50 a pint.

Stopped by here the morning after the Strong beer festival. I live in Michigan, so what could be better then sitting outside having breakfast with good beer during the month of february. The staff here were very attentive and willing to answer guestions about their beer and the brewery. Nice open air feeling inside the bar due to the see through bar area. Solid tasting beers. The breakfast event was food made with beer. The food could not have been better. Very clean and well maintained. I will be back whenever I visit the Phoenix area. Big thanks to all at this fine brewery.

Very cool place located in what appears to be a historic section of Chandler (as everyone else has made reference to already). They have outdoor seating also and what's really cool is how they utilize the bar. From the outside, on either side of the bar is is seating looking into the bar which really opens things up. When the weather is cooler, they have the heating units outside so you can sit outside at the bar and still be comfortable, nice touch.

On tap at the time was: Hefe Wheat, Epicenter Amber Ale, Hop Shock IPA, a Black IPA, Sex Panther, and Sunspot Gold. They also had three guest taps, a couple of hard ciders, and Epic Brewing - Sour Apple Saison.

I visited this place in the past and both times the food was good, this past time, I had the jalapeƱo chicken Caesar which was great.

The bartenders were right on top of things and next time I'm in town I'll visit again. Some of their beers are available in a can as well and can be purchased for carry out.
