Their take on a red lager pours a deep ruby-amber hue with tight foaming. I get an aroma of sweet caramel and a flavor that has a light sweetness followed by a dry roast. Well balanced, with some mild bittering to give it definition. It’s not a “traditional” red ale but then again it’s not an ale, it’s a lager.
Dry, malty, and filling.

Pours a dark reddish amber with a short antique white head. Aroma is characterized by a nutty caramel character. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel with very light carbonation. Nutty flavor with some ripe fruit esters as the hop character emerges. Interesting how the Northern Brewer hops come to life at the finish despite the appearance. Deceiving.
