Poured into a tumbler from the growler.
Thick hazed auburn and light maple in color. Creamy, white head that lasts as a whispy sheet. Spotted lacing with decent strength.
Clean malted wheat; toasted, semi-sweet biscuit with a faint hint of mustiness. Citrus hop aromas with notes of pine.
Near clean citrus hop character and spicy floral hops. A bit of solvency and phenols prior to a rounded oat and wheat flavor at mid-sip. Saffron and spicy hops with a sharp, cutting alcohol presence.
Medium in body; clean and crisp with minimal solvency. Rounded and not weak like other more traditional versions.
According to the brewer this is an 'American Wheat with added hops', which truly gives a somewhat boring style a nice edge. I sense a slight presence of Belgian yeast; whatever it is, it shakes things up and keeps the style interesting.
