Bottle: Poured a clear deep orangey color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of fruity hops with tropical notes. Taste is also dominated by tropical fruit notes with some fruity ester and light bitter notes. Malt backbone is quite discreet with a small amount of residual sugar. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Decent but not really a type of hops that procure me with enough enjoyment.

Different label (no "II") but the same beer. Thanks papat444!!

Appearance. Pours a very clear yellow-gold with a half finger of white head.

Smell. Wow, nice big citrusy, grassy and lightly herbal hops. There's also some papaya, tropical fruits and some light, grainy malts.

Taste. Tropical and citrus fruits with some nice bitter grassy hops. The balance of fruts and bitter hoops is really nice. Very fresh tasting as well.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with medium, smooth carboantion. Nice.

Overall. Honestly, this didn't look so great in the glass. Pretty still and obviously filtered with not much for a head and zero lacing. The taste more than made up for this though. Delicious ipa with some interesting hops. Thanks again, papat444! If this brewery gets a big (barrel aged?) stout going, they'll be my favourite brewery in the country.

The color is copper, quite pale compare to the other version made with nugget. Nice white head on top of it. Tenacious head too. I like this. The aroma is light... timid I would say. Compare to version I, it is quite timid... Fruity with some light notes of pines. Taste is quite delicious. The finish is quite bitter. Awesome. In the mouth it is quite fruity first and then the bitterness comes and hits you quite well. I like a lot this version. Subtle but very aggressive too.

The carbonation is perfect. Well balanced. Quite close to perfection if you ask me.

Finally a Quebec brewer that do IPA like west coast american do!

Hops: Falconer's flight & Zythos

A: Pours a really pale golden color, with a genreous white head.

S: This is lovely. It's really reminiscent of lemon peels, almost like citrus dishwasher soap. As it may sound like a bad thing, the nose is, in fact, really enticing.

T: Wow, citrus strikes again, with grassy perfumes too. God it's bitter. I just love this kind of IPA, a true hop bomb. And it's bone dry. Awesome. Many IPA's from quebec are pretty sweet, brewed with lots of caramel malts. This is so dry, and bitter, it just leaves you asking for another sip

O: One of my top 5 beers of 2011 (and of the start of 2012, indeed). I've had this 5-6 times in the last 2 months, with consistent appreciation. A bit less complex than "cuvée houblonnée I", but in a really dry, thirst-quencher style..
